Christmas in July

Happy Friday!

TGIF! Hope you are having a great day and that you have an even better weekend! Can  you  believe it's the last weekend in July! Yikes where is this summer going?! We are looking forward to some fun with family this weekend and some much needed relaxing too!

Today is new challenge day over at Just Magnolia and Stamp Something. And I've again combined these challenges on my card. The new challenge at JM is a fabby sketch by Bev that I know I will be using again. And over at SS, we have a theme challenge of Christmas in July. Perfect challenges to combine!

I've used Bev's sketch with some Wassail papers from BG and have stitched the edges on the sewing machine. I colored my sweet and adorable Tilda with Copics to match these pretty holiday papers. And then framed her with circle nesties. I've embellished with lace and stitched ribbon, flowers, a snowflake charm, and a brad. The sentiment is from Whimsy Holiday Postmarks.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Magnolia Down Under: Christmas in July
Stamptacular Sunday: Christmas in July

Thanks for stopping by to visit today. I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Text Only

Good Morning All!

Happy Thursday to you! Hope you're having a great day. I'm looking forward to Friday and the weekend. It's been a good week, but a busy one and I need a break. We did have a fun play date yesterday though, so big thanks to Erin for having us over and getting us out of the house!

Today I have a card to share for my final guest spot at Cute Card Thursday. I'd like to thank everyone for having me, but especially Deb for asking and inviting me to join this amazing team for the last month. I had a great time!

The challenge this week is Text Crazy! The challenge of this challenge is to use text/sentiments as the main focal point of your creation. You can add images, but please be sure the Text is what is really the focus of your creation.

At first I was really sweating this challenge, I never use text and no images on my cards. Yikes! But then I remembered all the fun Letter Seal sentiments we released at Whimsy Stamps and I was on my way. These new sentiment sets are perfect for expressing your thoughts and also a perfect size for a text only card. This is one of the Letter Seals from the Birthday Letter Seals set created by our super talented Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs.

I've gone with a white and red color combo and used some DCWV paper from the Sweet Stack. The base layer of white was embossed with the Swiss Dots CB folder and I used Circle Nesties to frame the image. I've embellished simply with sticky gems on the corners and some white dot doodles on the red layers.

Thanks for dropping by today. I'll be back tomorrow with my project for the Just Magnolia and Stamp Something challenges. Have a great day!

Wild Ride

Hi Everyone!

Happy Tuesday to you, hope it's been a nice day! It's been warm and sunny here, but the kids are complaining it's too hot out to play, so we are inside yet again. This summer is flying on by, but I feel like we are spending most of it indoors and missing out.

The one thing being indoors does help is finding some time to craft. Today I made this card using the new Moonlit Ride carousel horse from the Crissy Armstrong Collection at Whimsy Stamps.

This is such a beautiful and wild and free horse that I wanted to use some wild colors too. I got the inspiration from the Indian Summer BG papers that I've used on the card. The image was colored with Copics and then I added Stickle accents to make her shimmer. I've embellished with flowers and ribbon and then some sticky pearls.

This card also fits the challenge at:
Sketch and Stash: sketch and used red/pink pearls

Thanks for dropping by today. I won't be posting until Thursday as we are going to be having a play date tomorrow and I don't think I'll have time to craft and blog. Have a great couple of days!

Still Love Me

Hi All!

Happy Monday! Hope you're off to a great start this week. I was hoping to have a card to share much earlier than this today, but I guess it's better late than never.

I was in the mood to try some of the new challenges posted this weekend and late last week, so I've used a couple as my inspiration. I've also used this super sweet digital image from the Crissy's Digi's Collection at Whimsy Stamps.

This is Love Me Anyway. Isn't he just so sad, but oh so cute! How could anyone not love him! I've colored him with Copics and then added a little bow to his neck. The papers are Granola from BG with some stitching on all the edges. I've embellished with yellow and blue roses, some ribbons, and a few buttons.

This card fits the challenges at:
Friday Sketchers: Sketch
BasicGrey Challenges: stitching
Creative Inspirations: Anything Goes (sponsored by Whimsy)
Cooking It Up with Katie: button, bow, blue
Create for Fun: Use flowers
Stamp, Scrap, Doodle: digis

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a great night! See you tomorrow.

Cute Card Thursday GDT

Hi All!

Happy Thursday to you! Today I have a card to share for one of my last weeks as guest designer for Cute Card Thursday. I have really enjoyed sharing in the challenges and being part of this amazing team and challenge blog all month long. This week we have a sketch challenge for you. Please follow the sketch to enter for the blog candy prize. You can flip it and/or rotate it, but please be sure the original sketch is visible.

For my card I used this sweet new image from Meljen's Designs called Brooke at the Beach, which released this morning at Whimsy Stamps. Melissa has created 5 fun new images for her weekly Thursday release, head on over to Whimsy and check them out.

I went with a blue color combo and used these fun Magnolia Lazy Summer papers. I thought the clouds and stripes would be perfect on a beach themed card. I followed the sketch from CCT as it was and then embellished with shell themed brads, flowers, and a Ticket Sentiment from Whimsy. The image was printed on Neenah CS and colored with Copics.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Everybody Art: blue and white
Paper Take Weekly: Cutie Patootie

I also wanted to mention the "Sizzling Summer Sentiment Sale" going on at Whimsy right now. For the rest of July you can save 25% off on all of Ann's fabby digital sentiment sets. Please note this sale is for DIGITAL sentiments only! Stop over and check out the beautiful word art!

Thanks so much for stopping over today. I hope you have a great day and if you're up for a challenge head on over to CCT and join in!

Pixie DT - Sketch and Double Play

Happy Wednesday All!

Hope you've been having a nice week. Sorry I didn't have a card to share yesterday. This summer has just been a crazy crazy time! And it is going by SO fast. Are you finding that too?

Today is a new challenge over at The Pixie Cottage and this week we have a sketch by our guest JayJay and the added theme of double play. For the double play we would like to see 2 images on your project. As always you can use both the theme and sketch or one or the other. It's up to you! And this will be a two week challenge too, so plenty of time to join in the fun.

I've chosen to go with just the sketch as I wanted to use one of the South End Girls and I couldn't find another image to use with her.

I've used Copics to color the image and then used multiple pink colored Copics to create a dotty background around the image. I also added some Stickles, but they aren't showing up in the photo. The papers are BG Ambrosia with just black and white card stock. I've embellished with flowers, ribbons, and sticky gems.

Thanks so much for dropping by today! Hope you have a great day and get some time for yourself.

Happy Stamping,

Whimsy Stamps July Release Blog Hop

Happy Monday All!

And welcome to our Whimsy Stamps new release blog hop! It's an exciting day at Whimsy and we hope you will enjoy this fun tour of blogs and all the beautiful creations using the new rubber stamps released today! There are 6 new rubber stamps....3 image stamps designed by Crissy Armstrong and 3 sentiment sets designed by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs.

The hop began at Noon EST today over on Senior Designer Chris's blog. If you are just joining me now, you'll want to hop back over to her blog and start the hop there. If you've been hopping along and just joined me from Crissy's blog, then you are in the right place!

Today I've used the new stamp Jelly Bean designed by Crissy and I've used him for a baby card. He's such an adorable image that he will work for lots of things, but I was in the mood to create something different.

I started with some BG Lily Kate papers in these soft blues, yellows, and greens. I've stitched all the edges on the sewing machine and then used a MS border punch on the middle layer. I colored Jelly Bean with Copics and then cut him out. He's layered on a white and blue Circle Nestie frame that has also been embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. I've embellished with lace, gingham ribbon, flowers, brads, a baby shoe charm, and some Stickle accents. The sentiments are also from Whimsy Stamps, using the Ticket Sentiments and Oval Snippets.

This card also fits the challenges at:
BasicGrey Challenges: Gingham
Scrap, Stamp, Doodle: Animals
Fussy and Fancy: Stitches, Scallops, Sparkle
Totally Papercrafts: Recipe
Just Add Ink: Embossing
Paper Romance: Stitching
CRAFT Challenge: babies/children

Thanks for coming on by today! The next stop on our hop is our Senior Designer Ann. Please hop to see what she has to share with you today. I know she won't disappoint you!

There will be one grand prize on offer at the end of the hop which includes a chance to win all 6 of these new release stamps! And all you need to do is hop, leave some love for the designers, and then leave your name and blog link in the linky feature at the end of the hop! Good luck to all who join in!

If you can't do all the hopping today, no worries! This hop will be open until Monday, July 26th at Noon EST. The winner will be drawn and announced sometime on Monday afternoon or on Tuesday next week.

Have a wonderful day and a super week!

Stamp Something Digital

Me again!

I didn't think I would get to my Stamp Something card this week. I had some server issues with the Whimsy Stamps shop yesterday that needed quite a bit of attention, but I managed to get in some time last night and whipped up my card. The server seems to be back to normal at the moment, however we are having a couple glitches with the Contact Us form. The email will say sent, but then I don't get it. So if you need me or have a Whimsy question, feel free to contact me anytime at whimsystamps@gmail.com.

OK, so at Stamp Something this week we have another monthly digital challenge. The theme is quite simply to stamp something digital. You can use a digital image, digital papers, digital layouts for a scrapbook page, etc. We have wonderful sponsors this week with lots of fun prizes so there will be multiple winners drawn from this challenge.

I've used this sweet image called Jumprope from one of our sponsor's Phindy's Place. I've colored her with Copics and added some Stickle glitter accents. The papers are BG Koishi with purple and yellow card stock. I've embellished with ribbons, flowers, and a flower brads.

Thanks again for stopping by! Hope to see you on Monday for the new release at Whimsy Stamps! Some of our DT members will be sharing sneak peeks today and this weekend too. Be on the look out!

Happy Stamping,

Just Magnolia Sketch

Happy Friday All!

Hope you've had a nice week. It's been hot here so we've been enjoying the A/C and pool! Hoping for a bit of a cool down soon, but not sure that will be happening.

Today I have my card for Just Magnolia to share with you. This week our challenge is a fabby sketch by the super talented Bev. As always you must also use a Magnolia stamp on your creation to be eligible for the blog candy prize.

Sadly, I think this heat has stolen my mojo! I am just not 100% happy with anything I've created lately. Does that happen to you?? I had high hopes for this card, but it didn't turn out the way I had planned. I loved working with Bev's sketch, but the colors look rather holiday-ish and that was not my intention. Anywho! I've used some Magnolia papers with this sweet Tilda with Tag stamp. I've colored with copics. The papers have been distressed and stitched on the sewing machine and I also added lots of Stickles to the edges too. I embellished with flowers, ribbon, and ribbon slides.

The sentiment is a sneak peek at a brand new set from Whimsy Stamps which will release on Monday, July 19th. It's called Birthday Letter Seals and I love it! Be sure to stop by on Monday for our new release blog hop and a chance to win all the new rubber stamps!

Have a great weekend!

One for Christmas

Hi All!

Well it's Thursday and that means another guest design spot over at Cute Card Thursday. It's been so much fun taking part in these challenges and being featured as a guest. I'd like to thank Deb and Caz again for having me! This week the challenge theme is Christmas! And it just so happens that Crissy Armstrong released new holiday themed digital stamps at Whimsy Stamps this month!

I've used this darling image called Trimming the Tree...

I'm not 100% happy with this card I must admit. I think it was rather hard to get in the holiday spirit when it was 90 degrees and humid when I was creating this card. And I need me some new holiday papers I think too! The image was fun to color and I've added some Stickle glitter accents too. The papers are from a stack I got from Erin, I think they are My Minds Eye, but not 100% sure on that. I've stitched the edges on the sewing machine and then embellished with ribbon, sticky gems, and snowflakes.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Everybody Art Challenge - holidays
Winter Wonderland - Twas the Night Before Christmas

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I have to apologize for my lack of blog hopping lately. Things have been so busy lately I haven't had much time for visiting my friends. I'm thinking of you all and hoping you are enjoying your summer. And I'm so grateful to those who have been stopping by and leaving some love. Hugs to you!

Pixie DT - Sketch and Triple Play

Happy Wednesday!

Hope you've been having a good week. It's been hot and sticky here, but today looks like rain. Not that I like being stuck in the house, but we could use the rain for the lawns and flowers and things. And when it rains, I don't have to water the garden! Bonus!

Today is a new challenge over at the Pixie Cottage and as usual we have a fun sketch for you to try along with a theme. This week the theme is Triple Play, to use 3 of something on your card, for instance 3 flowers or 3 buttons, etc. For my card I've used both the sketch and theme along with this sweet Buffy the Bunny image available from the Pixie Cottage Stamps.

This image is an Easter image, but I added flower soft to her basket to cover the Easter eggs and make her an any time image. I colored with Copics and then cut her out and glued her to a Swiss Dots embossed background. The papers are BG Wisteria and the edges have been stitched on the sewing machine. I've embellished with ribbon and 3 rose flowers.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Paper Take Weekly: In The Garden
ABC Challenge: You and Me
Your Next Stamp: Flower Power

Thanks for stopping by today. If you're up for a challenge, head on over to the Pixie Cottage and join us! Have a great Wednesday! Two more sleeps and it's FRIDAY!!

The image was from my dear friend Deb who was kind enough to stamp me some of these darling images. I've colored it with Copics and added some glittery accents. Unfortunately, the glitter isn't as shiny in the photo as it is in real life. The papers are Magnolia and I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday. I also distressed all the edges and added some Stickles for more shimmer. The card was embellished with flowers, ribbon, and sticky gems and I also added a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

Summery Tilda

Happy Monday!

Hope you had a nice weekend. It was hot and humid here and rained on Saturday, but we still had fun. I can't believe Monday is here already though. Weekends are always too fast!

I have a card to share that I created yesterday, just for the fun of making a card. I've used a new Tilda that I recently bought but had yet to ink up. Isn't she sweet?!

I love these BG Koishi papers with this pretty aqua blue color. Perfect for a summery card or project. And the black accents make the colors pop too. I've colored Tilda to match using my Copics. Then added some Stickle accents all around her. The papers have been stitched on the sewing machine and then I've embellished with ribbon, flowers, and chandelier drops.

This card fits the challenge at:
Friday Sketchers: Sketch (I've flipped it)
Paper Sundaes: Lots of Layers
Polka Doodles: Summer Theme

Thanks for dropping by today. I hope you have a great Monday. I'll see you back here tomorrow for the final week of the Wishes for Bella Blog Hops.

2 Recipes

Happy Friday All!

Boy has this been one HOT week here in New Hampshire! It's been hard to get anything done outside or play outside, but I have gotten caught up on crafting while enjoying the A/C. Hoping for a bit of a cool down soon. I love the summer, but humid and near 100 degrees every day is sure taking it's toll.

This week I have my double card Friday post to share my Just Magnolia and Stamp Something challenge cards. And funny enough, both challenges this week are recipes. First I have my JM card using our recipe of 3 flowers, 2 papers, and 1 ribbon and of course a Magnolia image.

I reached for an older Magnolia this week since many of my stamps have been neglected lately. I've colored this Lollipop Tilda with Copics and added some CE to the lollipop to make it appear glossy. I then cut Tilda out and adhered her to the oval nestie with a swiss dot back ground. The papers are DCWV from the Sweet Stack and I've stitched all the edges. I've embellished with ribbon, flowers, and hemp twine with a birthday sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Creative Card Crew: dies (I used Nesties and a punch for the tags)
Incy Wincy Designs: punches
Sentimental Sundays: Celebrations

Next is my card using the SS recipe of 1 paper, 1 image, and 1 ribbon. You are welcome to add other elements, but please do follow the recipe.

I went for a more simple card with the one layer of paper and I used an image that I had colored a while ago and never did anything with. The paper is BG Koishi and I've used a Martha Stewart punch on the corners and then framed the image with Nesties. I used a piece of lace ribbon and then added some pearls and flowers to finish off this card.

This one fits at these challenges:
Delightful Challenges: Summer Time Colors
Little Red Wagon: Nestabilities

Thanks for stopping by this hot Friday! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Donkey Smiles

Good Morning,

Happy Thursday, can you believe tomorrow is already Friday! This week has been super HOT here so not getting much done because of the heat, but have found some time to craft in the A/C.

Today I'm a guest designer over at Cute Card Thursday and thought I would combine that challenge with a card for Michelle Oatman.

If you've not heard about Michelle and her tragic accident, please visit the Spoon Full of Sugar blog. They are hosting a card drive in honor of Michelle and Whimsy Stamps is taking part by offering a FREEBIE image and sentiment set which can be downloaded from our shop page now. We are also sponsoring the drive with a prize. Be sure to check things out, there are lots of wonderful sponsors taking part and we hope to be able to flood Michelle's mailbox with lots and lots of well wishes from around the world.

This is my card for Michelle using the Meljen's Designs FREEBIE Sweet Donkey with the coordinating sentiments created by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs.
The challenge at CCT this week is School's Out. I was thinking summer time with this card and went with flowery papers and added lots of flower accents. The image was colored with Copics and then I added some glitter accents. The sketch is from this month's Whimsy Stamps Challenge and the papers are SU!. I've stitched and distressed the edges and framed my image with an Oval Nesties set. I embellished with pearls, flowers and chandelier drops, ribbon, hemp twine and a charm, and a Whimsy ticket sentiment with the Donkey Smiles FREEBIE sentiment.

This card also fits over at:
Crafty Pad: Animal Fun
Stampavie and More: Sparkling
Crafty Catz: Distressing
Quixotic Paperie: Pretty Pearls

Today is also new release day for the Meljen's Designs digital collection at Whimsy Stamps. Every Thursday Melissa will bring you new digital designs! Head on over and check out what she created for this week!

Pixie DT - Sketch and a Window

Happy Wednesday!

I can't believe this week is already half over, love holiday weekends! Today is new challenge day over at The Pixie Cottage. We have a guest sketch done by the lovely Dawny P and our theme this week is window. As always you can combine both the sketch and theme or pick and choose.

I've done both the sketch and the theme and cut a window out in the center of my card. I've used a South End Girl stamp on this card. You can get this cutie from The Pixie Cottage shop over at Michelle's Scrapbooking.

I loved working with Dawny's sketch and making the window was easy too. I've used my Big Shot and Nesties to cut the window. The papers are BG Eva with some chocolate and pink card stock. I've embellished with satin ribbon, cherry blossom flowers, sticky gems, and some Stickles.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great day! Be sure to head on over to The Pixie Cottage and join in the challenge!

A Criss Cross Card

Happy Saturday!

And Happy 4th of July weekend to those celebrating here in the USA! Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday weekend.

I'm here to share my Just Magnolia card. I'm a little late, but better late than never as they say. This week is our special monthly JM challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp with a $30 gift voucher prize to win. And we have Jeanette from Happy Thoughts and Inkspots with us to share her challenge of a Criss Cross Card. There is a fab video tutorial posted on the JM blog too.

So that's it, the challenge is to try making a Criss Cross Card and pair that with a Magnolia image and enter the challenge. Here is my card, I haven't made one of these cards in a long while. It was fun to do something different.

I've used this sweet Midsummer Tilda and colored her in bright pinks using my Copics. The papers are from the Magnolia Fairytale Collection along with some Kraft and Vanilla card stock from SU!. I've stitched the edges on the sewing machine and embellished with ribbon, tab and brad, flowers, stickles, and a heart pin. The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps Ticket Sentiments set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you have a very nice weekend!

Fly Your Flag Colors

Happy Friday!

Hope you've had a great week! I am so happy today is Friday and that it's a long holiday weekend. This has been one crazy week!

I should be sharing two cards today, but unfortunately with the utter chaos of my day yesterday, I didn't get my Just Magnolia card finished. I may have it for you this weekend though. The challenge this week is our special monthly challenge to make a criss cross card. The sponsor is Simon Says Stamp, so head on over and check it out!

I do have my Stamp Something card to share using our challenge of "Colors of Your Flag". We have 6 new DT members and we thought it would be fun to have a challenge that also helps us get to know where everyone is from.

This is my creation using the colors of the USA flag of red, white, and blue! I've used this sweet SCACD image that I received for my birthday from my dear friend Erin. Thanks Erin, I love her! She's been colored with Copics. The papers are SU! with blue and white card stock. I've stitched all the edges with the sewing machine and then embellished with flowers, star brads, and ribbon.

This card also fits at:
Sunday Sketch and Stamp: sketch
Charisma Cardz: Metal Mickey

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great Friday!

Fruity Bunny

Hell All!

Today is digi release day over at Whimsy Stamps! There will be a release party starting at Noon EST over at the Whimsy Inspirations Blog and all the new digital stamps will be for sale at 10am EST! There are lots of really cute images and brand new sentiment sets as well as some new custom design options. And if that's not enough excitement, Meljen's Designs has moved to Whimsy Stamps! All of the Meljen's Designs digital stamps can now be found exclusively at our shop. Head on over and check it out!

I was asked to be a guest designer on Cute Card Thursday for the month of July, which of course I jumped at! I love that challenge and Deb is a wonderful friend, so it's an honor to help out. Today's challenge is Fruity! I've decided to go with a new Meljen's Desings digi stamp for this card, it's called Garden Bun Bun Fairy and paired it with some fun and bright fruity colors.

I've colored the image with Copics and then framed it with Oval Nesties. I had every intention of glittering up her wings, but I totally forgot! Oops!
