Holiday Gnome

Good Morning!

Happy Monday! Can you believe only 1 more day and it's December!? I have yet to do any holiday shopping either, yikes! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend if you celebrated Thanksgiving. It was another weekend that flew on by. Before we know it, Christmas will be here!

And speaking of Christmas, I have created another holiday card to share with you today. I still have quite a few I need to make for this year's Christmas list, so you'll be seeing more holiday themed cards in the days and weeks to come. How are your holiday cards coming along? I find them to be some of the most fun to create.

This is a Whiff of Joy gnome which has been colored with Copics and then framed with Oval Nesties. I have used some Bo Bunny papers and then added faux stitching with a white gel pen to all the red card stock layers. The final touches were some polka dotted organdy ribbon, a tag with a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Winter Letter Seals set, more ribbon, and flowers.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Scrappy Frogs - Christmas
Ellephantastic  - red and green
One Stop Craft - Christmas cuties
Our Creative Corner - make a tag
Totally Gorjuss - trees
Crafty Catz - Christmas
Daring Cardmakers - spots and stripes
Christmas Stampin' - CHRISTMAS and anything goes
Crafty Sentiments - Christmas

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you have a great afternoon!

Just Magnolia - A Sketch

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

So who is out shopping today and taking advantage of all the "Black Friday" sales and specials? Did you get up before dawn? I have never done that, not brave enough I guess! Not sure what our plans are today, but we have no work and no school, so it should be great! Hope you have a lovely Friday!

Today is new challenge day over at Just Magnolia! This week we have a fab sketch by our talented DT member Donalda. I know this is one sketch I will be using again too, thanks Donalda! Be sure you also use a Magnolia image when playing along!

I have created another holiday card. I think these are my most favorite cards to make. I have been having so much fun with all the beautiful holiday papers and stamps and embellishments. I think I will be sad when the holiday season is over! For this card I used Hanging Tilda and colored her in red and white and then added some snowy glitter to her little treat pouch. The papers are Bo Bunny and I've embellished with snowflake die cuts, glitter, and a big red rose.

This card also fits the challenges at:
A Spoonful Of Sugar - anything goes
Paper Take Weekly - cut it out
Stamps R Us - sparkle and scallops
Crafty Pad - red and gree
Simon Says Stamp - Let It Snow

Thanks for coming on by today. We hope to see you over at Just Magnolia. And remember the Stamp Something challenge from last week is a two week challenge, so no new challenge this week, but still plenty of time to enter!  Have a great weekend!

Winter Jelly Bean

Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Ours flew by as always and boy was it chilly! We are getting ready for the Thanksgiving holiday here, but we have 2 more days of school and work to get through before a nice mini vacation and some family time.

This will be a quick post today as I need to get moving on some work so I can enjoy some time off later this week. I created this card using the Whimsy Stamps rubber stamps Jelly Bean from the Crissy Armstrong Collection.

I started with some Whimsy Holiday Folly paper and then added a scalloped circle bordered with pretty delicate snowflakes. I got this idea from the super talented Dena and her gorgeous Magnolia card HERE. My image was colored with Copics and then sat in a bed of twinklets snow. I've embellished with pearls and glitter and a snowflake with a sticky gem center.

This card fits the challenges at:
2 Sisters - snowflakes
Catch The Bug - Christmas crafts
Our Daily Bread Designs - holiday cards
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle - no flowers
Stampin For The Weekend - winter
Totally Papercrafts - snow and snowflakes
Paper Play  - let it snow

Before I head back to work, I wanted to also let you all know that this week is our Stamp-a-Day-Giveaway at Whimsy Stamps! Thankful and White

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

It's been another busy week, but I did manage to make a couple of cards for Just Magnolia and Stamp Something this week. I was sad to miss out last week, so I made sure to take a break this week and get some crafting done. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend too and hoping to craft a bit more!

Our challenge at Stamp Something this week is "thankful somethings" in honor of the upcoming US Thanksgiving holiday next week. We are also running this challenge for 2 weeks, so you have plenty of time to enter. The prize this week is a $20 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp!

For my card I have used a bunch of Whimsy Stamps products, starting with the new Holiday Folly papers created by Ann and Crissy. They are beautiful and perfect for holiday/winter creations. I stitched the edges on the sewing machine and then sprayed with Glimmer Mist and added some Stickles dots too. The image is N'ice Friends illustrated by Crissy from our winter collection last year. I've colored with Copics and then highlighted with some Twinklets (thanks Erin!). I embellished this card with beautiful snowflakes created with our new Whimsy Shapeology Die Winter's Jewel 1, created by Crissy. I love how intricate and delicate this snowflake is. I cut them from white card stock and then covered with Star Dust stickles (which you can buy at Simon Says). The ticket was cut with our new Shapeology Ticket Die and the blank ticket from the Holiday Ticket Set and "thank you" from Oval Snippets.

This card also fits challenges at:
Allsorts - sketch
Fab 'n' Funky - forgotten stamp or digi
Paper Pretties - thank you
Simon Says Stamp - sparkle
Stampin' Royalty - patterned paper
Caardvarks - holiday cards using die cuts
Creative Card Crew  - give thanks

Next up is my card for the new JM challenge and this week we want to see lots of White with only one other color. You can color your image with other colors, but please limit your papers and embellishments to only white and one other color. And be sure to use a Magnolia image to qualify for the prize this week.

I went with a red and white combo and used SU whisper white card stock which was embossed with the snowflakes folder and Big Shot. Then I added some polka dot paper from my Bo Bunny stash. The holiday wish list BG is from Whimsy Stamps. I've stitched all the paper edges and then used some nesties to frame my image. The image was colored with copics and highlighted with stickles. I've embellished with snowflakes, gems, and ribbon.

This card fits at:
ABC Challenge - holidays
Creative Cottage - for someone special at Christmas
Anything Goes - Let it Snow
Flourishes - Christmas
Critter Sketch - texture
Little Paper Shop - die cuts
Paper Playtime - use something you love (polka dot ribbon, snowflake embossing folder)

Thanks so much for stopping by this Friday. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Fisher Moose

Happy Tuesday All!

Hope your week is off to a good start. I actually had time yesterday to make some cards! Been a while since I had time for myself, so I really enjoyed it. Today over at Whimsy we have a special Meljen's Designs digital release. Melissa created some super cute images and sentiments in honor of her Dad and some of his favorite things!

I chose to make a card with this new image called Fisher Moose. He's adorable and perfect for masculine cards. I think I will send this one to my stepdad who is recovering from arm surgery. He's an avid fisherman and should appreciate this one!

I colored the image with Copics and then distressed the edges and used a piercing tool to make the faux stitching. The papers are BG Oliver and have also been distressed. I accented with some eyelets and hemp twine and a fish charm. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Ticket Sentiments and I cut it out with the new Ticket Die.

This card fits the challenges at:
Gingerloft - great outdoors
Sew Many Cards - DIGI STAMP and blue & white
Stamp Something - use something digi
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - cards for men
Pixie Dust Studio - cards for men or boys
Freshly Brewed - 2 or more patterned paper
Simon Says Stamp - Prince Charming
Meljen's Designs: Food (worms are fish food and fish can be eaten)

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you have a super Tuesday! I hope to have more crafting time and something else to share tomorrow. We shall see! lol

Vintage Merry Christmas

Happy Sunday!

We are relaxing this weekend and taking a much needed break just hanging out at home. Hope you've had a good weekend too. I did a little crafting last night but needed to wait for glue to dry before I could finish my project. So now I'm ready to share it with you.

On this card I used the cracked glass technique except that I cheated and used crackle finish glue. I colored the image with Copics and then applied the glue and waited until this morning for it to dry fully and work it's crackle magic. It does cause some Copic ink to bleed, specifically the red, but I still like the final result.

On my finished card I have used the new Very Merry designer paper available now at Whimsy. These papers were designed by Crissy and Ann, exclusively for Whimsy Stamps. This piece has beautiful poinsettia flowers along the edges with a cream background. The flowers are the same as the one from the Vintage Christmas stamp set and were hand colored by Crissy and then Ann used them to create the final layouts. I distressed the edges with a tool and then embellished with lace and ribbon and this big beautiful gardenia flower.

This card fits the challenges at:
I Did It Creations - traditional Christmas colors
2 Sisters - Christmas
Crazy 4 Challenges - Christmas
Elephantastic - Christmas
Totally Gorjuss - Christmas in traditional colors
Crafty Catz  - paper tearing
Fairy Tale - anything goes
Cute Card Thursday - anything goes
Paper Play - ribbon, lace and flowers

If you missed out on the Whimsy blog hop, you still have a few days to join in for a chance to win some prizes including the grand prize of all 6 new stamps, a ticket die, and the new papers! Click HERE to start hopping!

Tomorrow starts week three of our Whimsy Anniversary Celebration and we will focus our attention on the custom design offerings at Whimsy. All custom rubber and custom digital designs will be 20% off for next week only!

A Sketch and Some Beads

Happy Friday All!

Woo Hoo another weekend almost here! It's been another crazy busy week here so I am really looking forward to a bit of down time with my family. Hoping to take the kids to see Megamind this weekend too. Hope you have something fun and relaxing planned too.

Today is new challenge day over at just Magnolia and Stamp Something. And because of lack of time this week, I've combined the challenges again and have only created one card. Good news is, you can do the same! Just remember you must use a Magnolia image to enter the JM challenge.

Our challenge at Just Magnolia is the special monthly challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. We would like to see "Anything Goes" and/or the option of some beads on your creation. And then over at Stamp Something we have a pretty simple sketch for you to use.

I created this card last night after making my card from yesterday so the papers were already out and on hand. These are Bo Bunny and I've also embossed with the snowflakes folder on the white layer. I've used the SS sketch as is, but have embellished quite a bit with some pearls, flowers, ribbon, and a snowflake. The image was colored with Copics to match the papers and then cut out and popped up on foam tape on the snowflake pattern. I also sprayed everything with glimmer mist, but that's hard to see in the photo.

This card fits the challenges at:
Paper Romance - lots of whatever you want (lots of flowers and pearls here)
Creative Cottage (2 weeks) - embossing
Freshly Brewed - anything goes, optional sketch
ABC Christmas - Christmas cards with white
Anything Goes - Something with the Letter B - (blue)
Paper Play (2 entries) - circles

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Christmas Angel

Good Morning!

Hope you're having a great week so far. It's been chilly chilly here, so not ready for winter! Great crafting weather while staying in where it's warm though, so I guess ya can't complain about that. Hope it's nice where ever you are.

Yesterday we had a new digital stamp release at Whimsy Stamps. There are lots of fab new images, some for the upcoming holiday season and some others great for every day use. You can see them all HERE in the Digital Collections.

Today I would like to share a card I created using the new Little Christmas Angel image illustrated by Crissy Armstrong. I think she's just darling and she was also fun to color too.

I colored my image with Copics and then cut her out and glittered her wings. The papers are Bo Bunny and I love them! So festive and fun. The edges were stitched on the sewing machine. I've embellished with ribbon, sticky gems, flowers, and holly leaves.

This card fits the challenges at:
Sketch Saturday: Layout/Sketch
The Crafty Pad: Stitching
Paper Players: Anything Goes
Bee Crafty: Christmas
Our Daily Bread: Sparkle
Secret Crafter: Anything that Flies
Alphabet: Angels and Fairies
