Two Weddings

Happy Tuesday All,

I have two wedding cards to share with you today. My family will be leaving in a couple days to attend two family weddings over the next two weekends. It's been a very busy wedding year for our entire family!

I used a card fold idea I found on Emily's blog last week, it works perfect for these cards. Plus, it's always fun to try something new. Both of these cards also have dry embossing using my Cuttlebug and folders. I tried to photograph them so that you can see how they open and what they look like lying flat. I made both cards using the wedding colors.
This first card is Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, and Baja Breeze and uses the stamp set Baroque Motifs. I embellished the card with taffeta ribbon, pearls, and felt flowers.

The second card is Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla and I used the stamp set Together Forever. This card was also embellished with taffeta ribbon, pearls, and felt flowers. The sentiments are from All Holidays.

Thanks for stopping by, pleave forgive me if I don't visit over the next week or so. I'll try to have some new projects posted while we're away and I will definitely be by to visit you all when I return. Have a great week!

Happy Stamping!! :)

Layers of Color Monday

Hello Everyone!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a nice weekend. It rained here pretty much every day, but we made the best of it. Everything is drying out now and the sun is even trying to make an appearance!

I have two cards to share today, both of which I made for my Layers of Color gallery. I plan to share Layers of Color cards with you every Monday for a while. Hope you like what you see! :)

This first card uses the Renaissance Heart stamp set. I stamped the image in brown ink and then colored with re inkers and a blender pen. The cardstock colors are Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla. I embellished this card with organdy ribbon, eyelets, and pearls.

This next card uses the stamp set Fleur Heart. I started by embossing the leaf design on the black cardstock using silver EP. Then I dry embossed the white piece with my flower CB folder. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s set All Holidays. I embellished this card with organdy ribbon and rhinestone brads.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you'll stop over and visit the other Layers of Color galleries and be inspired!

Have a great day and happy stamping!! :)

Just Stamp Something!

Hey Everyone, it's Friday and you know know what that means...yup, a new challenge over on STAMP SOMETHING! This week we are lucky enough to have Kim, the owner of My Favorite Things, sponsoring and hosting our challenge! Yay!

Kim is also going to donate 2 stamp sets of her choosing to the randomly drawn winner. So if you want a chance to win some fabulous My Favorite Things stamps, head over to STAMP SOMETHING now and play along! Be sure to check out the fantastic design team samples while you're there! :)

So, the challenge this week...super easy! Just get out your stamps and stamp something, anything you wish. It can be a card, scrap book page, a 3d project, anything that has something stamped! Here's my card, one for Halloween!

I used my new Autumn Harvest stamp set from Stampin' Up! I would have done something with MFT, except that I don't own any MFT stamps. Maybe some day!

This card is pretty simple, I first stamped my images using the masking technique and then colored them in with watercolor crayons and an aquapainter. They look a little blurry because I added some crystal effects to make them shiny, not very shiny in the photo. Sorry about that! The colors here are Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie, and Chocolate Chip. I added some paper piercing and ribbon with a mini clip as my embellishments. The sentiment is from All Holidays.

Thanks for visiting today! I hope you'll find the time to join our challenge and just stamp something today! Have a great weekend. Happy Stamping!! :)

Whiff of Joy For You

Hello All and Happy Thursday!

I have a card to share with you that I made for the blog candy challenge on Cammie's Blog. Cammie is a designer for Gina K and gives proceeds from one of her stamp sets to help the Alzheimer's Association. She is currently holding a drawing for donated goodies worth over $1000! Can you believe it!

Cammie is promoting awareness for World Alzheimer's Day and in doing so she is asking that anyone who would like to enter her blog candy make a special card for a caretaker. You can send this card to someone you know or to an address Cammie has listed on her blog. This is for a great cause, so why not hop over there and check it out!

The card I made uses a Whiff of Joy image. I colored her with watercolor crayons and an aquapainter and dusted her wings with glitter. Then I mounted her to a petite scalloped circle cut with my Nestabilities. The cardstock colors are Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Ruby Red, and Old Olive. I added paper flowers, rhinestone brads, silver brads, and twill tape to accent my card. The sentiment is from Fresh Cuts.

Thanks for stopping by. Head over to Cammie's and check out all the fabulous companies and individuals who donated products for this amazing blog candy offer! Happy Stamping!!

Pocket Silhouettes

Happy Wednesday!

I have a quick post to share a couple of stamp club cards with you today. I've got another club meeting tonight that I've been preparing for all day and thought I'd take a break for a bit to post. Hope you're all having a good week!

Both of these cards were made using Pocket Silhouettes, a new stamp set from Stampin' Up!. It's a great set for making quick and simple cards that are still pretty. I used new In Colors on both of these cards as well. The first one uses Pink Pirouette and the second uses Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze. Both came together in under 30 minutes. That's just the kind of stamping mood I'm in today!

Thanks for stopping in, hope you have a nice afternoon! See you soon! Happy Stamping! :)

Running Rabbits

Happy Monday!

Well, another weekend already over and a new week beginning. I hope you all had a nice and restful weekend. Can you believe that Fall is here? I know I can't, this summer went too quickly.

I have a card to share with you today, one that I made for my Layers of Color gallery. I used the stamp set Garden Borders from Layers of Color. The other supplies are Stampin' Up! or store bought.

I started with a 7 inch square of Always Artichoke cardstock folded in half. Then I layered on Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla. I stamped my image in Timber Brown Staz-On ink and colored the image with re-inkers and an aquapainter. The rabbits have been cut out and adhered with Mono. I added a sentiment from Short and Sweet, a Stampin' Up! set. Then finished this card with silver hodgepodge and paper flowers.

Thanks for taking a look today. Happy Stamping!! :)

Embellished Somethings!

Happy Friday!!

We have a new challenge posted over on STAMP SOMETHING and this one is super easy! All you need to do is create something, anything you want, that uses embellishments. You can use a lot of embellishments or just something little. We have a fabulous blog candy chance up for grabs for those that play along. Head over there now and take a look at the creatively embellished design team samples!

My project is a book, one a created using Stampin' Up!'s On Board Book Basics and a Simply Scrappin' Kit. I used die cuts, pearls, and ribbon to embellish this book after I covered the chipboard with designer papers. This is a very simple project that only uses a few supplies and takes a little bit of time. My book is actually going to be used as a guestbook at a small family wedding.

To start, you need to cover your chipboard pieces with craft glue then adhere your paper. Let that dry. Cut a 12 inch piece of designer paper a couple inches shorter than the length of your chipboard and score it every inch and then fan fold it. Adhere one of the 1 inch lengths to the front cover and another to the back cover. I used Sticky Strip for this.

Now cut 3 pieces of cardstock for the pages. These should be a tad shorter that the book covers so as not to stick out. You can make more pages by cutting another designer fan fold piece and adhering it to the first one. Adhere your cardstock pages to alternating folds on your inside designer paper. Add a piece of ribbon long enough to tie the book closed. Then embellish as desired. Clear as mud, right! Seriously, if anyone needs any more info, just email me. :)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you join us in embellishing something too! Have a great weekend. Happy Stamping! :)

Whiff of Joy - Thank You!

Happy Wednesday!

I want to share a card I made today using a new Whiff of Joy stamp. This image is from the Angels Collection by Elisabeth Bell, isn't she sweet! I don't want to give anything away here, but Katharina, the owner of Whiff of Joy, will be sponsoring one of the upcoming challenges on STAMP SOMETHING in October! You'll have to be sure to check in and play along, you never know what you might win!

So, for this card I started by coloring this image with watercolor wonder crayons and an aquapainter. Then I cut it out with my Coluzzle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities. Finally, I added crystal effects and glitter to her wings.

The printed papers are from Stampin' Up!'s new Parisan Summer DSP. The card base is Chocolate Chip cardstock. The embellishments are pewter hodgepodge, paper flowers, and grosgrain ribbon. I also paper pierced the edging.

Thanks for stopping in today! Hope you're having a nice week. Happy Stamping! :)

Cone Flowers

Hi All! Happy Monday!!

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. The weather was OK here, it rained some, but it's really warm today!

I have two cards to share with you, both of which I made with my stamp club girls last week. Each of these cards uses the new stamp set Inspired by Nature from Stampin' Up!. One card uses just white craft ink to stamp the image and the other uses that same ink, but then I added on pastels to give some color.

This first card uses the Baja Breeze and Night of Navy cardstock. I stamped the cone flower image in craft white and then added the ribbon across the bottom. I also stamped the sentiment directly on the ribbon. This sentiment is from the set Short and Sweet.

This next card is Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, and Chocolate Chip. I stamped the cone flower image in craft ink again and then sponged on pastels to give color to the flowers. I paper pierced the edging and added a photo corner and brads to complete this card.

These are two very similarly made cards with two completely different looks. For added punch you could emboss the craft ink with white EP to make a bolder image on the first card.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day, happy stamping!! :)

Cherry Inspiration!

Happy Friday Folks!!

We have another great challenge for you today over on STAMP SOMETHING. This week our design team member Melissa is hosting and she's got an inspiration challenge! This is her inspiration piece -------------------------------------------->
So, for this challenge be inspired to make a card, a scrap page, a 3d item, anything you wish that was inspired by this cherry bag. Have fun playing along with us!

This is my interpretation of the challenge. I made a paper bag purse! I cut a lunch bag to 5 inches square and then embellished it with Black and White cardstock. The cherries are from Tart & Tangy, a SU! set and the polka dots are from Itty Bitty Backgrounds, also from SU!. I added wide grosgrain red ribbon for the purse handles and some black, white, and red grosgrain across the front. The white cardstock has a scalloped edge that I also paper pierced. The final accent was the sentiment from Short and Sweet which was stamp and then adhered with silver hodgepodge. The punches used were the scalloped cirlce, 1 3/8 circle punch, and both the oval punches.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you'll be inspired to stamp something! Be sure to check out the design team samples, you'll be glad you did!

Have a great weekend and happy stamping!! :)

Published!!!

Morning All!

I've got some very exciting personal news to share with all of my friends and visitors. I've been keeping this news quiet for a couple of weeks now and I'm ready to bust at the seams...so here goes, I've been published in the brand new magazine Just Invitations!!! I still can't quite believe it!

I made a wedding invitation using some of my Layers of Color stamps and Laura, the artist and owner of LOC, encouraged me to submit it for consideration in the new invitation only edition of Just Cards! magazine. I can't thank Laura enough for ALL of her support and believing in my art! She gave me that push I needed to finally submit my work for consideration. Now, all I can say is if you've ever wanted to submit your work to a magazine or for a design call, DO IT!! Believe in yourself and give it a try. :)

So here it is, my Rose Heart Wedding Invitaion....

I made this invite from a template I designed for the invitations I made for my aunt's wedding. The colors are Black, River Rock, and White. I ran the white pieces through the Cuttlebug using the Flowers embossing folder. The pretty rose heart image is one Laura designed for the Layers of Color Signature Art Stamps product line. The final embellishments are gold eyelets and organdy ribbon.

I's also like to share that I've been given an artwork gallery on the Layers of Color website. This gallery is a showcase of all the cards and paper art I've created using Layers of Color stamps. There you can also see the inside of this invite and the matching reply card. I hope you'll visit my new gallery and also visit the fabulously talented design team galleries! Laura was also published in this first issue of Just Invitations! Woo Hoo Laura!!

Thanks for letting me share my news with you today! Have a wonderful day and happy stamping!! :)

Strawberries!

Good Morning!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I have a quick project to share today. It's one I've made for my design work for Layers of Color. It's a woven cardstock basket!

Laura, the owner of Layers of Color, sent me a link to a blog where there's a tutorial for making these cute little baskets.

I chose to make my basket using white cardstock and the Layers of Color stamp set, Garden Borders. This strawberry patch stamp works perfectly with this basket. I completed the basket with red circle rhinestone brads. There's also a tutorial for making paper strawberries to fill the basket, but I haven't attempted those yet!

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a nice day! Happy creating! :)

Fall Somethings

Happy Friday!

It's STAMP SOMETHING challenge day! Our design team member Alex is hosting the challenge this week! She's got a simple, but fun theme for the week...Fall Somethings. Make a project that has something to do with the Fall season.

I chose to make a card and I used this Sweet Ebony image. Apple picking is always one of my favorite Fall activities and this image reminds me of that!

I began by coloring the image with watercolor pencils and an aquapainter, my new favorite way to color images! Then I used these Fall colors...Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, More Mustard, Summer Sun, and Ruby Red to make my card.

I stamped the Canvas and Fresh Fillers BG stamps on the Old Olive piece. Then stamped my ink pad directly on the chocolate piece to give it a weathered look. The Summer Sun piece was scalloped using my corner rounder punch. The accents here are Jersey Originals Ribbon, wide grosgrain ribbon, Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware, and paper flowers. I also used the ticket corner punch and crystal effects on the image piece. The sentiment stamp is from Fresh Cuts, a Stampin' Up! set.

Thanks for taking a look at my Fall Something, I hope you'll head over to STAMP SOMETHING and check out the design team samples. Have fun stamping your Fall Somethings! :)

Cupcake Birthday

Hello All!

Boy, this has been a busy week at our house. My son is on to his 6th day of Kindergarten. It's been quite the adjustment for all of us. I can't wait until we find a new normal routine! Hope you're all having good week.

I have a card to share that I made for my sister for her birthday. I used an image I received from my blogging friend and fellow design team member, Emily. She made the cutest cards a while back using these images. She knew how much I liked them and she was kind enough to share some. Aren't they sweet! :)

I colored this image with watercolor pencils and an aquapainter. Then added crystal effects and glitter to create some textured frosting. The image is matted using my scalloped rectangle Nestabilities. The colors are Regal Rose and Rose Red. I embellished the card with wide grosgrain ribbon and silver hodgepodge, a paper flower and a dew drop, and finally a white gel pen. The other stamps used on this card are from Itty Bitty Backgrounds and Short and Sweet, both Stampin' Up! sets.

Thanks for visiting today, have a good day! Happy Stamping! :)

Earthy and Serene

Happy Tuesday All!

Hope everyone had a fabulous holiday weekend. The weather was beautiful here, you'd never know that summer is on it's way out.

I have a card to share today that I made with images my blogging buddy Lynn sent to me. They are from Serene Spring, a hostess set from Stampin' Up!. This is one of those sets that I could have bought and didn't, but now of course I wish I had. So, big thanks to Lynn for sharing them with me! :)

I used watercolor pencils and an aquapainter to color the image. The cardstock colors here are Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel. I'm happy to say that I made this card using all scrap cardstock. I have so many scraps, I need to make good use of them! The caramel piece was stamped with the Canvas BG in Close to Cocoa and then I stamped some cocoa right onto the paper, hoping to give it more of a weathered look. I paper pierced the corner of the image piece and added flowers and ribbon to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day! Happy Stamping! :)
