Summer Somethings
Well, what a week this has been, so happy it is Friday! Everyone in the Lynn house has been sick, missing school, and feeling down right yucky. But, I think we are all finally on the mend, thankfully! I didn't think I'd get a chance to participate in this week's STAMP SOMETHING challenge, but the kids are quiet and resting while watching a movie, so I snuck away and stamped!
The challenge theme this week is Summer in the midst of Winter. We all can use a little brightness and sunshine right about now, so stamp up something Summery! Pink Gem Designs is sponsoring the challenge this week and there's a super cute stamp up for grabs. Head over there now and take a look at all the Summer inspired DT cards as well. Be sure to have your entry posted by 7pm EST next Thursday.
This is the card I did for the challenge, it's very bright, bold even. Definitely not the colors of cold drab Winter! I used this Sugar Nellie Daisy image that my friend Janna was kind enough to share. She's been colored with Copics. The papers are from SU!, old retired DSP. I added some Prima flowers, ribbon, flower gems, a clip and charm.
Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous weekend! Happy Stamping! :)

Valentines with Cute Card Thursday
Last night's Whimsy Wednesday festivities on PCP were lots of fun. Thanks to all who joined in and played along with the challenges and chatted with all of us! It was nice getting to meet new people and to see all the fabulous stamped creations! We'll definitely do it again some time!
I have a card to share today for the challenge over on Cute Card Thursday, which is Valentines! Whimsy Stamps is sponsoring this challenge and one lucky winner will receive the new Love You Mice stamp from the Whimsy Animals Collection as well as a new sentiment set, Animal Love. Both a perfect fit with this challenge!
I used my Whimsy Frog for this one and paired him with some Valentines inspired DP from Basic Grey. The frog has been colored with Copics and framed using my Circle and Petite Scalloped Circle Nesties. I added many white gel pen dots for accents as well as some grosgrain ribbon and a flower. I also added a hat pin with beads and pearls for some added romantic flare.
Thanks for stopping in! If you have some time to stamp and need a challenge, head over to Cute Card Thursday and join in! Happy Stamping! :)

Whimsy Wednesday - Recipe Challenge
I'm back again with another card from our Whimsy Wednesday fun over on PCP. This card was made for a recipe challenge, not a food recipe, but a card making recipe. This one, hosted by Erin, was rather clever. She made the recipe to work with today's date, 1-28. For this challenge you must use only one color (multiple shades and a neutral are fine), two embellishments, and the card must be 8 layers, no more, no less!
Here's my card for this challenge. Which I do have to say, I took some liberties with. My card is actually 9 layers if you count the card base, so I didn't! And I also used 3 types of embellishments if you count the brads in the center of the flowers. So a little cheating, I know!
We're all having a great time tonight, stamping and chatting. If you find yourself in need of some fun, join us! We'll be there until about midnight! :)
Happy Stamping! :)
Whimsy Wednesday - Birthday Sketch
Well we've begun the Whimsy Wednesday festivities over on our Whimsy group forum on PCP! The DT girls will be uploading challenges all night for chances to win some free stamps! I made this card using the Birthday theme challenge as well as a sketch challenge from Jeanette!
I'll be popping in and out here and on PCP all night. I hope you'll join us for some stamping fun! We'll be celebrating the new Whimsy release until just about midnight EST tonight!
Happy Stamping! :)

Some Announcements!
Back for a second time today. I have a few things I need to post regarding some Whimsy Stamps news!
First, I'd like to thank everyone who participated in our February Guest Designer call. The creations we saw were amazing and it was an extremely tough decision to pick just one. After reviewing the entries over and over, we have chosen Michele Roos of My Little Space On The WWW. Congrats to Michele! I hope you'll take some time to visit Michele's blog during the month of February to see all her Whimsy creations!
Second, we are planning a Virtual Stamp Night on Paper Craft Planet in our Whimsy Group Forum tomorrow, January 28th at 3pm EST! We'll have stamping challenges hosted by our DT members with some blog candy giveaways, general chat and Q&A forums including some tips on coloring our images, we'll also have some new release news and updates, and a grand prize drawing at the end of the night to win the entire new release collection of stamps! Plus, our online shop will be open to purchase the current stamps and new release stamps with a special discount offer for one day only! Use the code PCPVSN all day tomorrow, January 28th and save 20% off your entire order before shipping! Orders will begin shipping on Friday, January 30th!
We're planning for a really fun night of stamping and we hope you'll join us! All are welcome, invite your friends! :) The festivities will kick off at 3pm EST and end just prior to midnight with the grand prize drawing!
Lastly, I want to leave you with a sneak peek at our newest collection of stamps, the Whimsy Kids Collection! I've created this card using our new stamp Pajama Time Emma! She was inspired by our daughter. Stayed tuned tomorrow for more information about this stamp as well as 7 others!
Have a great night! Happy Stamping! :)
Double Trouble Sketch
Thank you all for your well wishes on getting better. Still feeling a bit sick, but better than yesterday! Oh and sorry to disappoint that the mom to be was not me. I however am not at all disappointed! Ha! :) You're all too sweet though, your kindness cheered me up!
Hope everyone is off to a good Tuesday, we're home today. My son has a teachers workshop day and the weather men are predicting another storm for tomorrow, so he just might have tomorrow off too. Ah, winter!
I have a card to share today that I made for two challenges. First, for Sketch Saturday and then also for Magnolia vs. Stampavie. I've never done the Magnolia vs. Stampavie challenge before, but I'm glad I did. I received a bunch of images from my friend Jo and I even got a new Magnolia stamp from my friend Janna, so this was a perfect challenge to use these sweet images. And the sketch was also fun, a good way to start out on my card.
I went with a purple and green color combo, I know AGAIN! I just love these colors and they feel like Spring to me, which can't come soon enough. :) I used three Magnolia images, all colored with Copic markers. The accents on this card are grosgrain ribbon, prima flowers, and some brads. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.
Thanks for popping over! I'll be back later today to announce the winner of the February guest designer call for Whimsy Stamps. Happy Stamping! :)

Mom to Be...
Hope you all had a great weekend. It was cold here again, which was actually fine by me as I've been sick with a cold for three days so I didn't need to go out anyway. Being sick also kept me from stamping, but I hope to do some over the next couple of days.
I do have a card to share today that I made last week for a friend. I just found out this person is having another baby and so I wanted to send her a "happy pregnancy" card!
I think this Bella image is perfect for this occasion! I colored her with Copics and added some white gel pen highlights. I used my circle Nesties to frame the image and then mounted that on Riding Hood Red cardstock and Washington Apple DSP, both from Stampin' Up!. The accents are some gel pen dots and doodles, grosgrain ribbon, a clip with the sentiment (also SU!) and some flowers. I made the red flower with a punch and then added this clear flower and button on top.
Thanks for dropping by! Have a super Monday, I'm off to lay down and watch a movie with my daughter. Happy Stamping!! :)
ETA:
I forgot that this card also fits last week's A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge, OH Baby!

Awards and Other Stuff...
Hope your weekend is off to a nice start. It's pretty chilly here, but the sun is shining so I guess I can't complain too much. Not much planned this weekend either, maybe some stamping! :)
I don't typically post on the weekends however, I've received some awards and a tag and I thought I would share. First is the award...
I received this one twice. Once from Hanne and once from Erin. Both of these girls are talented stampers and it means a lot coming from them! I hope you'll visit their blogs to see what I mean, you'll surely be inspired! :)
The rules of this Award are as follows:
1) Post a link of the person who gave you this award.
2) Nominate 5 other people and give a link to their site.
3) Let the people who you have nominated know.
4) Put a logo of the award on your blog.
Now it's my turn to pass this award on, which is no easy feat as I know many, many, many talented and encouraging crafters who's work inspires me everyday. I'm not much for rules so this may count for more than 5 other people...
First, to my British blogging friends and stampers Bev, Jacqui, and Rach. Each of these ladies is incredibly talented and create the most fabulous card designs. They are a huge inspiration to me and I know to many others as well. Thanks for all you share girls! And then, I'd also like to pass this award on to my Whimsy Design Team, these ladies are fabulously talented and super hardworking. I am so lucky to have each of them! Thanks for all you do girls! And lastly, to the Stamp Something DT, your artwork helps to encourage stampers each and every week to join us in the challenges. You are all amazing and fun to work with each week!
Now, I was also tagged by Bev with a rather unique tag I must say! If you don't visit Bev's blog, you best be on your way there now, her work is always most impressive, you'll be very happy you popped over!
The rules for this tag are...
1: pick the 6th folder, and select the 6th piccy
2: post the piccy and an explanation on your blog about the piccy
3: select 6 others to do the same and let them know
See what I mean about unique, so I had to play along. Here's my photo...
I thought this was pretty funny, I certainly didn't expect this one. This is a photo of a box I made when I first became a Stampin' Up! demo. I had a workshop and wanted to make sure I had lots of different samples to share and what better than a box. I'd like to think I've become much more creative since then! Thanks for the tag Bev, this was fun! Now to tag 6 more people to play along with this interesting exercise!
Andrea
Denise
Erin
Lynn
Rina
Samantha
OK girls, have fun with this one!
Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back on Monday with some stamping to share, I hope! :) Until then, have a fabulous weekend.
Oh and if you need a stamping challenge, head over to Stamp Something and join in our Recipe Somethings, or visit the Whimsy Group on PCP and join our Blackness challenge, or even try out for the Whimsy guest spot for February, using a sketch. There's still time to enter all of these challenges.
Happy Stamping!! :)

Recipe Somethings Challenge
We've got a brand new challenge for your over on Stamp Something today! It's a little bit different too, it's a recipe somethings challenge. You can make a creation for a food recipe or maybe make some decorative recipe cards, or maybe even something for a recipe for that perfect day. This challenge is open to your interpretation of "Recipe." Have fun! Our sponsor this week is JessicaLynn Original and the candy prize for one lucky participant is a $25.00 gift certificate!!
This is my interpretation for this challenge, a 6x6 recipe card for Lemon Snowball Cookies. Now, I have to be honest here and say that I found this recipe online and have never made these cookies. I hope they're good, they sounded like it!
I started with a base of Bashful Blue cardstock and layered on white cardstock which has been embossed with the Snowflakes folder and the CB. I used a piece of striped grosgrain ribbon to hide the seam where the two white pieces meet.
I printed the recipe on white cardstock and mounted that to another blue piece. The final step to completing this recipe was to add this cute Charlie with Snowballs image from Whiff of Joy. He's just perfect for a snowball cookie recipe!
Charlie was colored with Copic markers and I added some glitter glue and dazzling diamond dust for added bling. He has been adhered with foam tape.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you'll take a look at all the Design Team samples and give this recipe challenge a try! Have a great weekend, happy stamping! :)

Get Well ...with a sketch challenge
Hope you're having a great Wednesday. I just spent the day with my good friend Erin and her girls. The kids got to play and we got to stamp. We also traded off some images too, which was great! It was a fun day all around!
I received some new stamps in the mail yesterday and one of them was perfect for the challenge over at Whiff of Joy Challenges. This week's challenge is a sketch, I seem to be taking part in a lot of sketch challenges lately, I suppose it's because they help get the mojo flowing! Here's the sketch, made by Katharina....
I loved that this one used a circle for the main image. I got a set of circle Nestabilities from my mom for Christmas and I haven't used them much. This was a perfect opportunity!
I used my new Willow with Umbrella stamp and colored her with Copics. I chose to go with a purple and green color combo. This was the challenge color combo from last week's Whiff challenge and I just loved the colors together. I think the black accents really make the colors pop too!
The final touches on this card are some striped ribbon, a flower brad and sticky rhinestone, and little bubble stickers for the raindrops. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps. And speaking of Whimsy, there's still time to enter the guest DT call for February, check out the details here!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great night! Happy Stamping! :)

Whimsy Sneak Peek
Hope you're having a good week so far. It's much warmer here, which has been nice. Yesterday we even had a chance to play outside in the fresh snow, the kids loved that. Plus, the fresh air did us all some good.
I haven't been stamping lately, haven't been feeling the mojo so to speak. But while blog hopping and web surfing today, I came across a sketch on PCP. It's a pretty simple sketch and I've been wanting to stamp, so I decided to give it a try in hopes that the mojo would find me. Here's the sketch....
I just bought some new Basic Grey papers for Valentine's projects so I knew I wanted to use those. I made the card without the image and was stumped. I don't have many Valentine stamps so I've decided to give you all a sneak peek at a new Whimsy Animals Collection stamp! Now, I don't have this one in hand yet, it will be released on Feb. 1st, so I had to print this one on the computer. This is the actual size the new stamp will be. We're calling them our Whimsy Love You Mice!
I waited for the ink to dry and then colored them with Copic Sketch Markers, added some glitter glue to the letters and mounted on some Pink Pirouette cardstock. The image piece is adhered to the card with foam tape. The embellishments are satin ribbon, a heart shaped clip, and pink button.
If you like these little guys and would like to pre-order this stamp, I will be accepting pre-orders beginning today through Friday, January 30th. The cost will be $7.00 plus shipping. I should have these in hand by Feb. 1st and will ship as soon as I receive them. If you're interested or have questions about this pre-order, please email me at whimsystamps@gmail.com.
Have a great Tuesday! Thanks for popping on by, happy stamping! :)

Layers of Color Monday - For Baby
Hope everyone is off to a good start this week. We're home, snowed in again! It's fine though, my son is off from school and maybe we will all get a chance to play outside as it's suppose to be a little warmer today. If you call 30 degrees warm, which with the temps we've had lately, that's like a heat wave!
I have a couple cards to share today that I made using some brand new Layers of Color stamps! Layers of Color just released 11 new stamp sets to add to their collection of clear art stamps. For my cards, I used the new set Polka Dot Parade. It's a fun stamp set, which I find perfect for baby projects. So I made two cards, one for a baby girl and one for a baby boy.
This is my It's a Girl card using the giraffe stamp from Polka Dot Parade. I also used Parisian Summer DSP on this card and colored the giraffe to match. The cardstock colors are Pink Pirouette, Blush, and So Saffron. I did some paper piercing and added a photo corner and felt flower to the image piece. The final touches were brads, felt flowers, and a charm. The sentiment is from Short and Sweet, a SU! set.
This second card is Welcome Baby Boy and I used the elephant stamp from Polka Dot Parade. The striped paper is an old piece from a scrap kit I've had laying around unused. The cardstock colors are Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery. This is a more simple card as compared to the girl card, probably because I have a much harder time making masculine cards. The sentiment is the same as on the girl card.
It's funny, I had planned to share these cards today, but found out some news this morning that makes them very relevant! I want to wish someone special a big Congratulations! We are very excited! :)
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you'll take a hop on over to Layers of Color and check out all the new stamp sets and see some fantastic creations in the design team galleries.
Have a great Monday, happy stamping! :)

Birthday Somethings
Boy am I glad it's Friday and we are almost to another weekend. It's been a long and cold week here in NH. Now that it is Friday, we have a new challenge for you over on Stamp Something and this one is Birthday Somethings. We're challenging you to create a birthday themed project. It could be a card, a scrap book page, or some gift item, anything goes as long as it has something to do with birthdays.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Starving Artistamps and they have generously donated some awesome stamps for one lucky winner and are offer 20% off new orders from now until the 26th of January for all the Stamp Something readers. How cool is that! If you want a chance to win 2 stamp sets and 2 sentiment sets from the DoodleFactory line from Starving Artistamps, head over to Stamp Something and play along with this challenge. Be sure to have your entry posted by 7pm EST on Thursday, January 22nd!
Here's my card, I actually needed to make a birthday card for next week, so this challenge was perfect for me. My card needed to be masculine so I went with blues for the color combo. I got this sketch from a challenge site, but of course now I can't remember which one. All the papers and cardstock are Stampin' Up!.
The image is my Whimsy Seal, colored with Copic markers then cut out and adhered with foam tape to the embossed circle. I added a felt snowflake and rhinestone along with some ribbon for those final touches. The sentiment is also from Whimsy Stamps.
Thanks for stopping in, hope you'll find time to stamp something with us this week. Happy Stamping! :)

Purple and Green....
Hope you're all having a good week. It's bitterly cold here in NH, hope it's warm where you are. I know I won't be leaving the house unless I absolutely have to, so I think I'll be doing some stamping! How about you?
Speaking of some stamping, my friend Janna came over for a visit last night and while the kids were watching some TV, we got to stamp a bit. We both decided to play along with this week's Whiff of Joy challenge, which is to use purple and green and of course a Whiff of Joy image. I just love this color combo, so I knew I had to play! I only have one Whiff image, so I went with Melinda Blowing Kisses.
My purple color is Elegant Eggplant and the green is Mellow Moss. I also used a printed paper from a giant prints pack I have. The ribbons are SU! organdy, grosgrain, and gingham. I also added a Prima flower, button, and piece of wire as an accent. The image was stamped with Versafine ink and colored with Copics. I also added some of my daughters Elmer's glitter glue to her wings. Janna and I both agree that we like this glitter better than Stickles!
I do have a question....which ink do you prefer to stamp your images in when coloring with Copics? I bought Versafine as it's one that's recommended for use with Copics, but I find that it still bleeds/runs when you touch the markers to it. I don't heat set the ink, but I do wait a while for it to dry. Any suggestions?
Well, thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great Thursday, stay warm! Happy Stamping!!

Winter Friends
I have a quick post today to share the card I made for the new Whimsy challenge on PCP. The challenge is called Whimsy Blackness and all you need to do is use black on your project. You can use black paper, black ribbon, or black embellishments.

For my card I used this new January release image, Whimsy Penguin and Seal. I colored with Copics and the mounted to a piece of black cardstock. The printed paper is a sheet from an old prints pack from SU!. I also used a snowflake embossing folder and added iridescent ice EP to the raised surface of the embossing. The final touches were some black ribbon, and sticky gems.
Thanks for stopping by today, hope you're having a great Tuesday! Happy Stamping! :)
Oh, and by the way check out Bev's blog for a chance to win some fabulous blog candy! She's got a generous bunch of goodies up for grabs, you have until January 17th to enter! :)

This is my card using this fun sketch and a Whimsy image. I started with a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock and layered on Riding Hood Red and Basic Grey papers. The image was colored with Copics and matted to a piece of Old Olive cardstock. The final touches were HPH, felt flowers, and a sentiment also from Whimsy Stamps.
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a chance to pop over to Papertake Weekly and try this great sketch yourself, you never know, you might be the lucky winner! Have a great Monday and happy stamping! :)

No Stamping For This Challenge
This is my card. I bet at first glance you thought I stamped, but I promise, NO stamping here. I used some rub-ons from Stampin' Up!. I've had these ones for a while, I think I used them on a wedding album I made over the summer and this one was a left over. My card is very simple, one that I created in only a few minutes time, which was great. I've been pretty busy all week, but I like to squeeze in some crafting time whenever I can. This challenge was a great excuse.
I started with a base of black cardstock and layered on a piece of white, which has been embossed with the Swirls embossing folder and my Cuttlebug. Then I added the rub-on to a white piece of cardstock and layered that on another piece of black. The sentiment layer is adhered to the card base using foam tape. I wanted there to be some dimension to this card, although it's hard to see in this photo, sorry. The final touch was adding some Prima flowers with a pearl center. I'm really loving these flowers!
So that's it! Pretty easy, right?! If you decide to play along with us this week, please leave a comment on Stamp Something with a link to your work and you'll be entered for a chance to win some goodies from FireCracker Designs by Pamela! Be sure to have your entry in by 7pm EST on Thursday, January 15th.
Have a great weekend and be sure to check out all the non-stamped design team samples, they're all very creative! Happy stamping or I guess I should say no-stamping! :)

Little Cowgirl
I do have a card to share that I made over the weekend while practicing with my new Copics. Which by they way, I'm totally addicted to and used Christmas gift money to buy more. I just couldn't stop myself! LOL!
I used this Sugar Nellie image given to me by my friend Jo, she was sweet enough to stamp me a bunch of different images a little while back. It's been a lot of fun coloring them in. Thanks Jo! :)
After I finished coloring, I used my Nesties to frame this image and layered it onto some Basic Grey paper. I embellished with flowers, ribbon, and a rhinestone brad. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.
Before I leave you today, I want to let you know about some truly fabulous blog candy Rach is giving away. Hop over to her blog and check it out!
Have a great Wednesday, happy stamping! :)

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a Bear...
Happy Monday to you! Things are getting back to normal around here now that the holidays are over. Hubby's back to work and my son went back to school, which my daughter didn't like at all. Daddy came home for lunch though and my son will be home soon and the kids can spend the afternoon playing. Funny how easy is to get out of our normal routines and getting back into them is so hard.
I had a few days over the Christmas break to do some stamping, which was very nice. So I have a new card to share today. I created this one with our new Whimsy Polar Bear and some Fun Flock. That stuff really is fun! I still need to practice a bit as it isn't perfect.
I used Blue Bayou cardstock and Ski Slope DSP to create the card. The embellishments are ribbon, felt snowflake, and a button along with a rhinestone brad and clip to hang the sentiment. This sentiment is one from the Whimsy Collection.
Whimsy Stamps will be sponsoring the challenge on the 12th of January over on Papertake Weekly and as some blog candy, one lucky winner will get this card and a free Whimsy Polar Bear stamp. I hope you'll join in that week. Stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping in for a visit. I'm off to do some visiting of my own right now. Have a great day! Happy Stamping! :)

New Somethings Challenge
We have a new challenge for you over on STAMP SOMETHING today and in keeping with the new year, our theme is "New Somethings." We'd like to see you create something "new" and you can interpret this however you choose. Maybe use a new product you received over the holidays, or a try a new technique or color combo, or make a project for a new baby or house or job. Anything that has to do with "new" will work for this one.
Our blog candy prize will be a chance to guest design with the STAMP SOMETHING Design Team for two weeks! One lucky winner will be chosen to design with us on January 16th and 23rd! To enter, please submit a project using the "New Somethings" theme by Thursday, January 8th at 7pm EST and leave a comment on STAMP SOMETHING so we can visit you and see your work! Have fun and good luck to everyone!
My card was made using two new products. The first is my COPIC markers. I got some for Christmas and so I decided to practice with this sweet Sugar Nellie image. The second new item is the Nestabilities. My mom got me the set of circles, very excited to have those!
The image was a gift from my friend Jo of Only Joking. After coloring, I cut it with the Nesties and mounted it on the scalloped circle. The printed paper is Parisian Summer from SU!. The chocolate chip cardstock was embossed with the flower CB folder. The final touches were some white gel pen dots and ribbon.
It was fun doing this challenge, I got to use some favorite supplies as well as some new stuff! I hope you'll find some time to stamp something new with us this week too! Have fun and happy stamping! :)
