2 More Challenges

Hello! Happy Thursday!

Hope this week is going well for everyone. I've been rather busy. School vacation is over and things are getting back to normal. I'm also working on those wedding invites and it's taking a LOT longer than I though it would. Hoping to get more done today!

I did take a break from my little wedding invite assembly line and made a card for fun yesterday. I used the challenges from A Spoon Full of Sugar and Stamp with Fun. The challenge at ASFS was a color combo or green and blue and the Stamp with Fun challenge was a sketch designed by my blogging friend Bev. A perfect challenge combo!

The papers are all SU!. The DSP is a retired pack, not sure of the name anymore. The cardstocks are Wild Wasabi, which is retired, and some Not Quite Navy. I just recently ordered this sweet Gorjuss Girl so I was eager to ink her up. She's been colored with Copics and highlight with a gel pen. The accents are punched flowers and rhinestone brads. The sentiment is from SU!'s Short and Sweet.

OK, back to the assembly line for me! Have a super day, see you tomorrow for a new Stamp Something challenge and boy do we have a great month of May planned! Stay tuned!

Happy Stamping! :)

ETA: Just realized that this card also fits the Charisma Cardz challenge which is Thank Yous.

Color and Sketch Card

Morning All!

I can't believe this week is already half over! Hope you're having a great day so far. I'm in the process of working on wedding invites as well as getting ready for a vacation next week. Lots to do in so little time!

I have a card to share today that I make for the challenges at Just Magnolia and Sketch Saturday. The new challenge at Just Magnolia was to use the color combo pink and green, so it was a perfect challenge to pair with the new sketch at Sketch Saturday!

I just love this color combo, so perfect for sweet images like this Magnolia! She's been colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. The papers are BasicGrey Porcelain and SU! Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery. I used some grosgrain and lace ribbons, a brad, a button, and a crocheted flower for accents on this one.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day and happy stamping! :)

4 Challenges, 1 Card...

Morning All!

Hope this Tuesday is off to a nice start! I have a busy day ahead of me, but before I start my "chores" I wanted to make a quick post to share a creation I made last night for 4 challenges!

The challenges I combined to create this card were Cute Card Thursday's getting edgy, Cupcake Craft's 5 different embellishments, Papertake Weekly's spots and stripes, and finally the sketch from Charisma Cardz! Phewww!

The papers are BasicGrey Porcelain with Pink Pirouette and Kraft cardstock from SU!. The image is a sweet Sugar Nellie I received from Erin. Thanks Erin, she was fun to color! I used Copics and a white gel pen to color this image then framed her with Nesties. The 5 different embellishments here are: (1) Prima flowers, (2) hodgepodge hardware, (3) striped pink grosgrain ribbon, (4) glossy brads, and (5) a flower charm.

You can see that the paper is spotted and the ribbon is striped to fit the PTW challenge and I distressed the edges and doodled with my white gel pen to fit the CCT edgy challenge. I think that's about it! One card, four challenges!

Thanks for stopping on by today! Hope you have a great day! Happy Stamping! :)

Monochromatic Whimsy

Happy Monday All!

Hope you had a nice weekend. The weather here was beautiful so we spent most of our time outdoors in the yard. Because of the nice weather, I didn't get to stamp at all this weekend. My plan is to now play catch up with all the fun challenges from the end of last week, this weekend, and today. Needless to say, I'm hoping to stamp a bunch today!

I made this card this morning for the new challenge on Whimsy Stamps Challenges and paired it with the sketch from Friday Sketchers! The challenge at Whimsy Challenges is to make a monochromatic project using only one color and one neutral. I chose to go with purple and white. For the sketch, I did flip the original one to accommodate my image.

The image is Pajama Time Emma, colored with Copics. The papers are Elegant Eggplant and Almost Amethyst cardstock and some DSP from an old SU! prints pack. I also embossed some of the papers with the Paisley folder and CB. I added some lace ribbon which came from my local craft store. The flower is a Prima with a fabric rose center. The sentiment is from the Whimsy set Simply Said.

Thanks for stopping on by. I'm off now to clean up the house and finish some laundry and then hopefully, STAMP!

Happy stamping!! :)

Showers and Flowers

Hi All, happy Friday!

Hope you've had a good week! This weekend is suppose to be really nice weather wise so I'm trying to get all the household chores and errands done today, so we can have fun the rest of the weekend! Hope you have a great weekend too!

We have a new challenge for you on Stamp Something today and this one is all about April Showers and Flowers! We want to see you create something with either showers or flowers or both. You may use images or embellishments or designer papers that will fit with this theme. Post your creation on your blog and then leave us a direct link to your work on the Stamp Something post. We have some great blog candy this week and a new sponsor! Head on over and check things out, don't forget to check out the Something with Showers and Flowers design team samples too!

Here's the card I made for this challenge! I used Rainy Day Emma from Whimsy Stamps as the main image and paired her with some raindrop images and a sentiment from our sponsor Penguin Pants.

The images was colored with Copics and the umbrella was paper pieced with Parisian Breeze DSP from SU!. I also used this DSP on some of the layers. The accents are felt flowers in pink, baja, and chocolate along with chocolate brad centers, and finally some pink striped grosgrain ribbon. All of these embellishments are from SU!.

Thanks for popping over today! Have a great Friday. Happy stamping!! :)

Sugar, Sugar, Sugar....

Hi All!

Hope everyone had a nice Wednesday. We spent the day with a good friend and her children. The kids played and we chatted, great way to spend the day. And now it's time to relax with the hubby and kids. But first, I do have a couple cards to share.

I had some time to stamp last night and made two cards for two different challenges. The first one is for the new A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge which was a sketch. I can't seem to pass up a good sketch, ever!

I used this image from Whiff of Joy, which I received in a swap. He's been colored with Copics, highlighted with a white gel pen, and finished off with some glitter glue. The papers are BasicGrey Marrakech and SU! Night of Navy, Tangerine Tango, and Riding Hood Red cardstocks. The accents are Marrakech Buttons and some hemp twine. I also distressed some of the paper edges. This photo looks a bit fuzzy, not too bad, but I see some blurring. Photographing the color red is always tough. Anyone else have that problem?

This next card is for the Sugar Bowl challenge, which was also a sketch. This one involved a bit more paper and layers, so it was a bit trickier.

I started with this Gorjuss Girl, colored her in brightly with Copics and then paired her with some old SU! DSP. I forget the name, but it's a fun pack of cheerful summery colors. The accents are punched flowers, striped grosgrain ribbon, and silver brads and hodgepodge. The sentiment is from SU!'s set Short and Sweet.

Thanks for stopping by! Sorry for the later posts this week, but my days have been much busier with the school vacation. Hope you have a nice evening! See you tomorrow.

Happy Stamping! :)

Happy Birthday Tree

Hello All!

Hope you're having a good Tuesday. Things have been busy here, but the kids are watching a movie right now so I've had the last hour to myself to stamp! What a nice way to end the day! :) Now it's on to making dinner.

But, before I go make dinner and then relax with the family for the evening, I wanted to share a card I made for the Cupcake Craft Challenge which was a fun sketch this week. We have some birthdays coming up at the end of this month and so I'm trying to get all those cards finished this week.

This is the Stampin' Up! set Thoughts and Prayers. I just love this tree. It's so simple, but very pretty. I used some watercolor wonder crayons and colored directly on the stamp. Then I used an aquapainter to dampen the white paper, let it dry enough that the crayon wouldn't run and then stamped the image. This technique creates a faded look to the image. It's soft and pretty, perfect for this stamp.

The cardstock colors are SU! Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette along with a piece of Porcelain paper from BasicGrey. The accents are grosgrain ribbon, a button, and Prima flowers with Chocolate Chip brad centers. The sentiment is also SU!, from the set Short and Sweet.

Thanks for stopping over today. Hope you have a nice night and a great day tomorrow. Happy Stamping! :)

Fairytale

Happy Monday!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We were busy here with shopping and errands and no time for stamping, but it was a productive weekend. The kids are on vacation this week, which will make things busy, but fun too! Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

I did have a few minutes to stamp today and decided to make a card for the Whimsy Stamps Challenges which was Occasions, the Cute Card Thursday challenge which was Floral Fantasy, and lastly the sketch from Sketch Saturday.

I used SU! Parisian Breeze DSP, which is probably my favorite of the new SU! papers this season. It's beautiful and it's textured, so it's fun to work with. I used my Whimsy Princess Coach stamp for the image, colored with Copics and added some Elmer's glitter glue for the sparkle. The other accents on this card are some felt flowers and rhinestone brads, grosgrain and organdy ribbon and more glittery glue.

If you are up for a challenge, check these ones out, all were a lot of fun! Have a good night, hope to be back again tomorrow with another card. It's suppose to rain so I'm sure we'll need to find some time to craft or watch movies, either way, Mommy gets to stamp!

Happy Stamping! :)

Stamp Something Yellow, Green, and Blue

Morning All!

So very happy that today is Friday, unfortunately that means our visiting family will be heading back home! But on the bright side, the sun is shining and it's suppose to be a warm day! And, it's almost the weekend! :)

Being that it's Friday, we also have a new challenge for you over on Stamp Something and this one is pretty easy too! We just want to see you create something with the colors yellow, green, and blue! We have a new sponsor this week and some fun blog candy, so head over there now and check out the prize and the fabulous DT samples!

For my card I used this sweet Sugar Nellie image and paired her with the Sale-a-bration DSP from SU!, which is the perfect color combo for this challenge.

I colored the image with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. I also used the gel pen to create some doodled edges. The layout is one from an old sketch challenge, I think one from Whiff of Joy. I did flip it to work for me. The flowers are ones I received from my friend Laura and I added some button centers. The edge was punched with the eyelet border punch from SU! and I also added some wide grosgrain ribbon. I think this color combo really says SPRING!

Oh yes, before I go....two more things...
First, a thank you to Tonya for this lovely blog award she presented me with. I was very touched and am honored to display it! It's always nice to know when our work brings happiness! So big thanks Tonya, so sweet of you! :)

Also, Bev has some super yummy blog candy on offer right now to celebrate her blogoversary! Head over to her blog to check things out, it's super duper good, I promise! :)

Well, I think that's about it for today. I hope you'll join us this week at Stamp Something! Have a great weekend!

Happy Stamping!

Black White and a Splash of Pink

Hi All!

Just a quick post today to share the card I made for this week's Whiff of Joy challenge. We have family visiting, but while they were out shopping yesterday I had some time to finish up some cards.

The new Whiff challenge was to use black and white and a splash of one other color. Well, I think I may have cheated a bit and added a touch more than a splash! Looking at it now it's more pink than the black and white. It was still a challenge to try coloring in only those shades.

I used this Willow with Umbrella image and colored her with dark gray and pink Copics. The papers are BasicGrey. The white piece was embossed with the Swirls folder and the CB. I also made a tag with the Labels set of Nesties, which I hadn't used yet. I think I bought them months ago and totally forgot! The flowers are paper with fabric rose centers. I cut the wire off the roses and added a bunch of crystal effects to the back and then held it to the card for a few minutes and so far so good! No unravelling!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with our new Stamp Something challenge and hopefully with some time to visit all of you! Until then, happy stamping! :)

Whimsy Stamps does Truly Scrumptious!

Happy Wednesday All!

Another week already half over, hope it's been a good one for you! I've got family visiting this week, which has been really nice. Hope you're doing something fun too!

Today, Whimsy Stamps is sponsoring the Truly Scrumptious Challenge! Our DT member Michele created a very fun sketch for the challenge along with one other must! Not only do you need to follow the sketch, but you also need to create a card for a child. If you enter, there will be a chance to win some Whimsy goodies, so head on over there now and join the fun!

I created this card using Michele's sketch and used my Whimsy Love You Mice to make a card for my kids. I colored the image with Copics and went over the letters with Twinkling H2Os to create some shimmer. The papers are BasicGrey Marrakech and SU! cardstocks.

I did a lot of distressed edges on this one and used many different ribbons to create some texture. I also added some brads, metal accents, paper piercing, and paper flowers with chipboard heart centers. The hearts were painted with craft ink and then I embossed them with white EP and the heat tool.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you enjoy the rest of your Wednesday! I'll be back on Friday with a new Stamp Something project! Until then, have a super week!

Happy Stamping! :)

Challenge Cards

Hello All!

Hope your Tuesday is off to a good start. I've got a busy day of house cleaning and errands before some guests arrive, but I did find time to squeeze in a few minutes for some stamping, a girl needs a little motivation, right! :)

I have two cards to share today. I made this first one for the Magnolia vs. Stampavie challenge and Papertake Weekly challenge. Magnolia was to use a sketch and Papertake was a Pastel Color challenge. I used a Sarah Kay image I received from Erin. Colored her with Copics and then used some Porcelain papers from BasicGrey.

This next card is for the challenges at A Spoon Full of Sugar and Sketch and Stash. Spoon Full of Sugar's challenge was to use dies and punches on your card and then Sketch and Stash had a new sketch to use and of course to use some embellishments from your stash. So for this card I used some Marrekech papers from BasicGrey along with this cute Tilda stamp I received in a swap. She's been colored with Copics. The stash here are some Prima flowers and some metal hardware and rhinestone brads. I used my Square and Scalloped Square Nesties for the dies to fit the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge.

Thanks for stopping on by today. Have a great day. I probably won't be doing too much in the way of stamping or blog hopping over the next few days as we'll be having some family visiting. I will be posting a card tomorrow though for the Whimsy Stamps sponsored Truly Scrumptious challenge! Off to work on that one now!

Happy Stamping! :)

Occasion Celebration

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend. The Easter Bunny was very generous with the chocolate at our house! A bit too generous I think! We may all be in a chocolate coma by the end of the week!

Today is the kick off of the new Whimsy Stamps Challenges blog! Being that it's the first challenge and we're celebrating the launch of this new site, our theme for this challenge is to have everyone make a Special Occasion or Celebration project! Pretty easy right!

Everyone is welcome to join in these challenges, however to be eligible for prizes, you must include a Whimsy Stamps image on your project. Check out the Whimsy Challenges site for more info about our challenges and the fun blog candy prize!

This is the card I made for the challenge. My sister is due to have a baby girl later this summer so what better occasion than "Welcome Baby!"

I used some Pink Pirouette and So Saffron cardstock along with Parisian Summer DSP, all from SU!. The image is Pajama Time Emma, available at Whimsy Stamps and on sale all this month! I colored her with Copics and then went over the pajamas with some Twinkling H2Os to add some shimmer. The accents are some paper flowers with SU! Button Latte buttons and a rhinestone brad, metal flower, and sentiment. I also added some lace ribbon and a heart shape metal piece to finish off this card.

Thanks for popping on over today! Hope you'll give this challenge a try! Be sure to stop by the Whimsy Challenges site and check out the fun celebration cards from the Whimsy Challenges DT!

Happy Stamping!! :)

Shape Something

Happy Friday All!

We have a fun new challenge for you over at Stamp Something! This week we want you to show us your shapes! Get creative with various shapes on your projects. See how many shapes you can squeeze onto one card or scrap book page or create a 3D project made out of different shaped items! Be sure to check out the fun design team samples and this week's blog candy, which has been donated by out very own DT member Marcea!

For my card I was inspired by my friend Hanne and her fabulous eye for detail and texture. I adore her style! I got creative with this card, using as many differently shaped items as I could fit on one piece of 5" cardstock!

I used the layout from the new challenge blog Stamp with Fun. The papers are BasicGrey and SU! cardstock in Black, Riding Hood Red, Soft Sky, and Baja Breeze. For my shapes I have a tag, circles, a heart, and some flower shaped buttons.

I distressed some of the papers to create texture and added lace ribbon, ric rac, and grosgrain ribbons. The heart is chipboard painted with craft ink and sprinkled with glitter. The image is a Gorjuss Girl I received from a swap. She's been colored with Copics. I added some twine to a circular green button and then glued on a bird from the patterned paper and placed that on the top corner. I also used a white gel pen to create some faux stitching. I finished with a sentiment from Short and Sweet by SU! held on with a mini paperclip with a flower charm.

Here's the inside of this card. For more shape fun I used the scalloped circle punch and square punch, then finished with a circle to write the message on. I also stamped a couple more thank you sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a fantastic weekend. Maybe it will be warm and the Easter Bunny won't be too cold while he's hiding all those eggs! Enjoy your Easter Sunday! Happy Stamping! :)

Pink and Brown Willow

Good Afternoon!

Hope your Thursday is going well. I can't believe the morning is already gone! I have been so busy, I didn't even realize the time until now. At least we're that much closer to the weekend!

I made a card today with the challenges from Whiff of Joy and Cute Card Thursday. Whiff of Joy was a sketch by Katharina and CCT was a color combo to use Pinks and Browns. Two perfect challenges to combine!

I started with some Chocolate Chip SU! cardstock and some Porcelain BasicGrey paper. I made this card using the sketch then added a lot of paper piercing. It's hard to see on the dark paper, but I pierced around each square of paper. I added some Pretty in Pink cardstock punched with the eyelet border punch and paper pierced along the top. The ribbon is some wide grosgrain Chocolate with a crocheted flower and pearl.

The image is Willow with Hot Cocoa, one I received from a swap, and she's been colored with Copics. Not the most Spring time feeling image, but it hasn't been very Springy here all week!

The final details were to pierce each scallop on the image piece and add some pearls to the top left corner. I forgot to add a sentiment to this one, guess it will work for any occasion now!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you'll join me and the rest of Stamp Something DT for an all new challenge tomorrow! Happy Stamping! :)

Sketch Saturday and Citrus Colors

Hi All, happy Tuesday!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Things have been busy here, but I finally had some time to stamp! I also wanted to thank those of you who participated in our first Whimsy Blog Hop. I thought that the DT did a fabulous job, the creations were all spectacular! I hope you enjoyed hopping as much as I did! There's still time to enter for a chance at the Blog Hop candy, I'll be drawing the winner tomorrow afternoon!

I made a card today with the sketch from Sketch Saturday and the color combo challenge from Cute Card Thursday, which was citrus colors. I love being able to participate in all the fun challenges and it's a bonus when it works out that I can combine them too.

I started this card with some Groovy Guava cardstock and layered on some BasicGrey Gypsy papers. The images are ones I received in a swap. They've been colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. I then cut them out and mounted them to a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock that was embossed with the Paisley folder and CB. The final touches were to use the SU! eyelet punch to create the lace border on the Barely Banana cardstock. Then I layered on more Gypsy paper with some lace ribbon and Prima flowers. I added a rhinestone brad for the center of the flower and dew drops to the top of the card along side the image.

Thanks for stopping on by! See you tomorrow with the blog candy winner and hopefully a new card! Happy Stamping! :)

My blog is the start of this fun hop! After visiting here, you will need to go to Design Team member Vicki's blog and from her blog you'll find the next stop on the hop!

Now I apologize for the length of this post, but I do need to mention all the fun stuff and the blog hop rules! Please bear with me....

On Wednesday, April 8th, I will choose 3 Design Team members to choose 1 random winner from the post comments on their creations to give away some mystery blog candy! No one knows who the DT members will be or what the candy will be, not even the Whimsy Design Team. So be sure to stop at all the blogs on the hop and leave a comment on their hop creation posts!

When you reach the end of this blog hop, you will also find a chance to win the grand prize blog candy! I will choose one winner at random on Wednesday afternoon, April 8th, to win the grand prize. So that's one grand prize chance at the end of the hop and 3 other blog candy chances through out the hop to win! Fun, right!

Now on to my creation! I used the new Whimsy Mother Goose and Babies for the image on this card. It's been colored with Copics and cut with Circle Nestabilities. The cardstock is all SU!, in the colors Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, and White. The designer paper is also SU! and is from some old DSP packs and the new Sale-a-Bration DSP.

For punches on this card I used the SU! eyelet border punch, the three flower punch, 1/4" circle punch for the center of the small flowers, the ticket corner punch, and the scalloped circle punch to create the big flowers. The centers on the big flowers are fabric roses. I added grosgrain ribbon and stitching along with some brads and metal accents to finish off this card. Having the challenge to use punches really made me take out some things I haven't used in quite a long time!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you'll continue along the hop and visit Vicki's blog! See you at the end of the hop! Have fun!!

Friday Sketchers Boy Card

Hi All!

Hope your weekend is off to a great start! We don't have much of anything planned, but that works for me. Some relaxing time is always a good thing.

This week Whimsy Stamps is sponsoring the challenge over on Friday Sketchers! It's a really fun and easy sketch too, one that I could see using again and again. Head over and check it out!

Here's the card I made using the sketch and my new re-sized Baseball Connor stamp! This one is much easier to fit on a regular sized card. I do love the ease of coloring on the larger version, but this one suits me better. We have each in stock now, but the larger size will be discontinued once we sell out!

For this card, I started with a base of Chocolate Chip cardstock and layered on some Blue Bayou and this fabulous textured designer paper. I used a piece of wide grosgrain ribbon as the next layer in the sketch. The ends have been cut like a flag and it's held on with 2 build-a-brads, which I made into baseballs. The image is mounted on more bayou and chocolate cardstock. I colored the image with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. And there you have it, a quick and easy layout for a fun all boy card!

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday! I hope you'll join me back here tomorrow morning at 9am for the start of our very first Whimsy Stamps Blog Hop! The design team and I will show you our Whimsy creations and there will be a chance at some goodies too!

Happy Stamping! :)

Stamp Something for Easter

Yay, Friday is here!

We have a new challenge for you over on Stamp Something and this one is easy! Just create something to do with being happy or something for Easter. Be sure to check out the Stamp Something Design Team samples and the fun blog candy prize this week!

This is what I chose to make for my project. You all know that I typically make cards, but today I wanted to try something different. So I went with a 2, 5, 7, 10 box! There's a super easy tutorial on SCS, you can find it HERE. This creation was much quicker to pull together than a card too. :)

I started with a piece of Almost Amethyst cardstock, decorated it with the Doodle Wheel from SU!, and then scored and cut according to the directions. I used a piece of Barely Banana cardstock and mounted the image to that. This is an image I received from the swap I hosted a while back. He's been colored with Copics. I mounted the image to the box and then put the box together. The flap is tied closed with white organdy ribbon and eggplant grosgrain ribbon. The box is filled with Easter candy. I think these will be perfectly little treat boxes for the kids.

So, if you're up for a challenge, head over to Stamp Something and join in our happy fun! Have a great weekend. Don't forget to join me and the rest of the Whimsy Stamps DT for our first ever Blog Hop beginning on Sunday at 9am EST right here on my blog!

Happy Stamping!! :)

Challenges, Challenges, Challenges!

Hi All! Happy Thursday!

Wow, another week just about done! This one has flown by too! While blog hopping this morning I came across a bunch of new challenges and thought I would make a card and try to combine them, which was another challenge, for me anyway!

This is what I came up with for the challenges at ABC Challenge, Copic Color Challenges, Truly Scrumptious, and Whiff of Joy! All of these challenges were posted yesterday, go over and check out them out!

I started with this cute little Whiff of Joy mouse image and colored him with Copics. The colors are in blues, browns, and prawn. I added some CE to the frosting to make it glossy. The layout is the sketch on Truly Scrumptious and I paired it with some Marrakech papers that have blues and reds. The hearts for the ABC challenge are chipboard, painted white with glitter added for sparkle. Then I distressed some of the edges for the Whiff of Joy challenge. Finally, I added some paper flowers with button centers and a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

I'm off now to work on some DT projects. I'll be back tomorrow with something new for an all new challenge on Stamp Something! Have a great afternoon, happy stamping!! :)

Quick Card, Qick Post

Good Afternoon!

Hope you all had a nice day. I just got home from a visit with a friend and the kids got to play all day. It was very nice!

I have a quick card to share today. I made this one last night after the new Whimsy stamps arrived! I had such fun with this one too. This little guy and 2 others will be released on this Friday, April 3rd!

I used some Marrakech papers and this new Whimsy Lamb stamp. The image was stamped with Memento ink, colored with Copics, and then I added liquid applique to create the fluffy lambs wool. I doodled in the grass and colored with Copics. The embellishments are rhinestone brads.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to make it around to your blogs tonight or tomorrow morning! Have a great night. Happy Stamping! :)
