Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!
Another week at the half way point! Hope it's been a good one for you. We are having another humid heat wave so we've been inside again the last couple days. It's great for crafting time, but not so great for 2 kids with lots of energy! Hoping to get out at some point today.
I have something a little different to share with you today. I was cleaning out my closet yesterday and found this plain accordion fold chipboard book and so I've altered it and made it into a small desk frame for a photo. It was 5 or so folds long, but I cut it to 2 so that I can make another frame or some other item at a later time.
This is the front view of the outside of the frame...
My papers on this project are BG Capella and I just used some adhesive and glue to cover the book with the papers. Then I used a piece of satin ribbon to do the binding of the book/frame. The edges were sanded down with a sanding block to make them more smooth and even out any areas with an over hang of paper.
I've used a sweet hAnglar image and colored her with Copics and then cut her out and put her on my little tag accent. The tag was embossed with the CB folder tapestry and the bottom edge punched with the MS lace punch. I've embellished with a lace doily, flowers, chandelier gems, and some lace on the tag. The challenge at
lovely hAnglar only was to use lace. I also used one of the
Handmade Letter Seals from Whimsy Stamps for the sentiment.
Next is a view of the inside of the frame....
I used more BG Capella papers on the inside with another strip of satin ribbon for the binding. On the left side, I matted two pieces of card stock with distressed edges and glitter, then add a little clip. This is the side to add a small photo and with the clip, you can change out the photo often. On the right side I used another hAnlgar image, colored it with Copics and then cut it out and popped it up on foam tape. I've finished the inside with more flowers and chandelier gems. The distressed inside works for the challenge over at
Cupcake Craft this week.
And last, is the view of the finished outside....
I stamped and framed another of the
Handmade Letter Seals and extra sentiments and placed that alone on the back side of the frame. It's a nice finishing touch.
This project also fits the challenges at:
Sentimental Sundays: Switch It Up (try something new)
Simple Doodles: Get out of the box (I was thinking outside the box and didn't make a card, does that count?)
Polka Doodles: male or female
Paper Play: Anything Goes
Dutch Dare: Anything Goes
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you have a fabulous Wednesday!
Happy Stamping,
