Monochromatic and Cute and Fuzzy

Happy Friday!

Hope everyone had a great week this week! I've been busy but it was a good week all around. Looking forward to some down time this weekend though. Hope you have some fun things planned! Have fun trick or treating!

Today is a new challenge over at Just Magnolia! We want to see you make a monochromatic project. If you aren't sure about monochromatic, it's basically just using multiple shades of one color. And you must use a Magnolia image to be eligible for the blog candy prize.

I went with shades of blue and added in some white for a winter snowy theme. I used some shimmery paper from Paper Maniac and embossed it with the snowflake embossing folder and CB. I embellished with ribbons, felt snowflakes, pearls, and a metal snowflake charm. I just received this sweet Tilda the other day and thought she was perfect for a snowy card! She's been colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. I also added some gel pen faux stitching to the edges.

Be sure to pop over to the Just Magnolia blog to check out all the beautiful monochromatic creations the rest of the design team made! And I hope you'll join in this week too!

This week our Stamp Something challenge is to create something Cute and Fuzzy. Our sponsor this week is Ildico and they generously gave the design team some images to work with for the challenge!

I used this sweet party bear complete with hat and streamer! I've colored the image with Copics and used some Bittersweet papers with the sketch from Truly Scrumptious. They also had a recipe they wanted us to use with some brads, gems, and flowers, which I did, but not in the correct quantities, oops! I embossed my circle layer with the Swiss Dots folder and CB and then added some flowers, buttons, gems, brads, and a piece of satin ribbon to complete the card!

I have a special announcement to share too. On Monday, November 2nd we will be hosting a Spread the Love blog hop for Jaimie Cates! We have over 60 hoppers joining us and some amazing sponsors who have donated fabulous prizes for our Spread the Love Card Drive Challenge! You can hop over to the new Stamp Something...for Jaimie blog now to find more information about Jaimie and our cause!

Thanks for dropping by today, have a great Friday! Be sure to check out my design team mates projects at both Just Magnolia and Stamp Something and if you're up for a challenge, please join us! Happy Stamping! :)

Lollipop Lollipop oh Lolli-Lollipop, Lollipop!

Hello!

Hope you are having a great day! I've been stamping away today getting some design work done as well as making a card just for fun! I checked out the challenges today too and there are some great ones this week! Lots of fun sketches!

I created this card using the Cupcake Craft sketch and my new sweet Magnolia stamp that arrived yesterday! I've been waiting and waiting and finally she is here! I love new rubbah!

I went with bright cheerful colors for this one as I think they fit perfect with this image! I've colored with Copics and added some gel pen and glitter accents to her and then cut her out and sat her on this pretty pink polka dot ribbon. I've embellished with Prima flowers, ribbon, a gem charm, buttons, sticky gems, and an eyelet border punch.

This card also fits the challenges at:
ABC Challenge - G is for Green
LaLa Land - use ribbon
Simon Says Stamp - All that Sparkles

Thanks for stopping by today, I'll be back here tomorrow with two new cards for the new Stamp Something and Just Magnolia challenges! Until then, happy stamping! :)

Hi Again!

Hope your Friday is going well! We have a treat for you today...we're doing another Whimsy Stamps Release Blog Hop! We've gone with a "change of season" theme for this one. You'll get peeks at the new release stamps in each of the design team creations as you stroll with us through the changing of the seasons!

Our stroll began today at noon EST on DT member Stacey's Blog, so if you're just joining me now, you'll want to stroll back over to Stacey's Blog and start the hop there. Our hop will go until noon EST on Wednesday, October 28th. So you have plenty of time to stroll through our changing seasons to check out the design team eye candy!

Each DT member will be giving out a blog candy prize on her blog and we will have a grand prize drawing on the Whimsy Stamps website. The lucky grand prize winner will receive all 4 of the new Fall/Winter animals, shown below! And if that's not enough, we will also have another "mystery candy" chance for all who join our SNR Whimsy group! For your chance at all of these fun prizes, be sure to visit all the blogs on your stroll and leave some love for the designers. We will announce the random winners on Wednesday afternoon next week!

My creation uses the new Whimsy Fall Fox stamp and I've done a Spring themed card. My layout is from last week's Friday Sketchers challenge and I've distressed all the edges.

I've used a purple and green color palette with BasicGrey Wisteria papers. My fox has been colored with Copics and mounted as a tag with a brad and some ribbon. I've embellished with Prima flowers, sticky gems, and a dragon fly charm. My sentiment is Circle Postmarks available at Whimsy Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Next on your stroll will be Sharon's Blog. Have a happy walk through the changing of the seasons and remember to leave those comments for your chance at some Whimsy candy! Happy stamping!

Paper Maniac Kid Crafts

Happy Wednesday to you!

Hope your day is going well! I'm off early today to take my daughter to ballet class and then we'll hit the grocery store on the way home. I hope to have some crafting time later too, but we'll see about that!

Today I have a special project to share. This is one my daughter Emma and I created together for my DT work with Paper Maniac. Our assignment this week was to create a project with our kids. So, while my son was at school the other day, Emma and I made this ornament!

Sorry about the glare, no matter what I did, I couldn't avoid it! These fun plastic ornaments are available at Paper Maniac and they make for a perfect keepsake. Emma chose the image and then colored it all by herself. I'm proud to say that an "almost" 4 year old did this! She is a budding crafter, can you tell she watches mom!

After she finished coloring her image we cut it out with circle Nesties to fit the ornament. Then we filled half of the ornament with glitter and beads. Next we fit the image piece into the ornament as far as it would go and taped it down. Lastly, we added satin ribbon for a hanger.

I love that I only had to use one half of the ornament, now I can get my son to make one too. Then our Christmas tree will have two new ornaments this year! This was a fun and easy project to do with Emma and it took very little time. I know we are all very busy these days, but if you have a half hour, these Kid Craft projects are lots of fun! You can see all the different crafts for kids at Paper Maniac, HERE!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back this afternoon with the winner of the Whimsy Blog Stroll! If you haven't had a chance to stroll through our change of season blog hop, you have until noon EST today! Have fun and happy stamping! :)

Be My Friend

*For the Whimsy Blog Stroll, please click HERE! You have until tomorrow noon EST to join us!*

Morning All!

Hope you're having a great day so far! I've been busy trying to get some chores done around the house, but I decided to sneak in a stamping break!

I made a card today using a few of the new challenges for this week and a neglected stamp! I've been making holiday cards lately, so I've taken a little break to make something different.

I started with this sweet Sugar Nellie Braveheart image and colored it with Copics in browns and gray. I highlighted with white gel pen and then cut it out with my circle nesties. The sketch is from Inspirational Card Sketches. I really like the simplicity to this one, I will definitely use it again sometime!

I went with a blue and green color scheme and added some retired SU! paper from last holiday season. This paper and my white gel pen dots fit the challenge at PaperTake Weekly of "Spots n' Stripes." I've embellished with ribbon, hardware, brads and buttons and a flower. I also distressed the edges of some of my layers to fit the "Rip It Up" challenge at My Time to Craft. I love distressing so this challenge was right up my alley!

Thanks for dropping by today! I'm off to finish my housework, hope you have a great afternoon! Happy Stamping! :)

Reindeer Ornament Card

For the Whimsy Blog Stroll, please click HERE

Good Morning!

Hope you all had a nice weekend. It rained here one day so I got some crafting done and then we just spent time as a family. Now it's back to the grind! Hope you have a great day ahead!

I have a card to share with you today that I created using the sketch from Whimsy Challenges. I also made my image piece removable as a paper Christmas tree ornament.

The image is the new Whimsy Reindeer from our Animals Collection. I've colored him with Copics and then added a little highlighting with a white gel pen. I created snow with chunky glitter and dazzling diamond dust. The image was framed with circle Nesties and then I punched a hole with the Cropadile and added an eyelet and ribbon for hanging.

The papers are BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses with some yummy satin ribbon. I also added a snowflake charm. The edges have been distressed using the edge of scissors. This card also fits the challenges at:

Daring Cardmakers - These are a few of my favorite things - the papers and ribbon
BasicGrey Challenges - use BG and the colors red, green, blue
LaLa Land - sparkle

Thanks for dropping by today! Happy Stamping! :)

It's a Reindeer Waltz

***For the Whimsy Blog Stroll, please click HERE***

Hi All!

I hope you are having a good weekend! It's a little later than usually for me to be posting but things have been busy at our house today. It's been another rainy day so we've been cleaning up and I did a little stamping too!

I wanted to share some news with you. Layers of Color will be holding a big party in November to celebrate the release of a new beautiful collection of clear art stamps! The party will kick off on the 14th and run through the 15th with amazing prize drawings totaling $250! Plus, if you "attend" the party, you will receive a free digital stamp party favor, get to see beautiful creations from the design team for your visual delight, and have fun meeting new people! I hope you'll come and celebrate with us and be sure to invite your friends too, all are welcome!

I wanted to leave you with some Layers of Color holiday inspiration! I've created this card using the beautiful Reindeer Waltz stamp set and some of my new favorite BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses papers.

I've embossed my bottom layer with the snowflake CB folder and then added some swirly printed paper to match the swirls in the reindeer image. I love the elegant details in this image. I've embellished with a felt snowflake and a button and snowflake charm. I added some soft pink snowflakes and a sentiment both from the SU! set Short and Sweet. It's a very snow filled card!

Thanks for dropping by tonight! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Happy Stamping!

Just Magnolia and Stamp Something

Happy Friday Everyone!

Hope you've had a great week! I've been busy this week so I'm looking forward to the weekend. It's suppose to rain tomorrow, you know what that means....stamping! Hope you have some fun things planned.

I have two cards to share with you today. The first is for Just Magnolia and the next one is for Stamp Something. Both of the challenge blogs have just posted new challenges, hope you'll join us this week!

Just Magnolia

This week at Just Magnolia we have a sketch by the talented and creative Martine! I've used the sketch almost as is, just changed the oval to a rectangle as I'm not great at making ovals.

I've gone with a pastel color palette and used some retired SU! designer papers. The colors are plum and saffron. I've distressed all the edges and added some lace and satin ribbons for a couple of my layers.

My image is one I received in a swap and she's been colored with Copics is more soft colors. Then I highlighted with white gel pen and some Spica glitter too. I've embellished with Prima flowers and roses and the sentiment is attached with a button.

This was a great sketch to work with, I hope you'll pop on over to Just Magnolia and give it a try! Be sure to check out all the beautiful design team samples created using Martine's sketch!

Stamp Something

Our challenge at Stamp Something this week is Halloween Somethings! Halloween is only about a week away, so we want to see your creative Halloween cards, treats, and projects! Our sponsor this week is Cute Daisy May and they kindly donated some blog candy as well as images for the Design Team to work with.

I went with this sweet little Halloween witch and colored her with Copics and highlighted with gel pen and glitter. I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday along with papers from K and Company and Making Memories. I've been using purples and oranges for my cardstock colors on all my Halloween projects as I ran out of black, not sure how that happened!

I've embellished this card with some gingham ribbon and orange buttons and some Prima flowers with a button center. If you are in need of some Halloween inspiration, be sure to check out the rest of the fun Halloween Somethings the design team has created this week! Then be sure to show us your Halloween Something!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful Friday and a fabulous weekend! Happy Stamping! :)

Halloween and Christmas

Hi All!

Happy Wednesday! I was meaning to have the post up earlier but it was ballet day today and things have been busy. I hope you're having a great day!

I have two cards to share, one for Paper Maniac and the other for Doodle Palace! One is a Halloween theme and the other is more Christmassy! So, I've got the holidays covered with this post! LOL!

Our theme and challenge for this week at Paper Maniac is black and white with a pop of color. I decided on orange for my pop of color so that I could make a Halloween card with this super cute image from LaLa Land Crafts, which is available at Paper Maniac.

I used some paper from Making Memories and K and Company with some cardstock from SU!. The sketch is also from our option add on to the challenge at Paper Maniac. The image was colored with Copics and highlighted with white gel pen and some Spica glitter pen accents. I've embellished with ribbon, buttons, and hemp twine. The sentiment is from SU! and I used a word window punch.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Cupcake Craft - Things That Go Bump in the Night
Stamp with Fun - Halloween
My Time to Craft - Halloween Colors
Everybody Art-Challenge - Halloween
Kaboodle Doodles - Spooky

My next card uses a cute new Sledding Penguin from Doodle Palace! This little guy will be available to purchase this week. He's been colored with Copics and then highlighted with white gel pen.

The layout is from Inspirational Card Sketches and I've used some SU! cardstock and Imaginisce papers. I really like these cute designs and that the pages have glitter on them too. I distressed the edges of my papers and then embellished with ribbon, a snowflake charm, and felt snowflakes with rhinestone gems. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps and I've framed that with the oval punches and word window punch and then added some brads to hold it in place.

This card also fits the challenges at:
LaLa Land Crafts - Use Sparkle
Digital Tuesday - Things with Wings

Thanks for dropping by today! Hope you have a great afternoon. Happy stamping! :)

Debbie asked me to guest design at A Spoon Full of Sugar this week and of course I said YES! I love their challenges and it's always an honor to be a guest designer.

This is my holiday card using Debbie's fab sketch and some BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses papers. We were all given digital images to use for the challenge too, from the sponsor Soft Pencil. I've colored mine with Copics to match the papers. I embellished with a felt snowflake, button, and hemp twine with a snowflake charm. The sentiment if from Stampin' Up!.

Spooktacular Halloween

Happy Sunday All!

We are in the midst of a cold and rainy day here, perfect weather for an afternoon of stamping! I went out and hopped around the challenge blogs and found some I wanted to try. And here is what I came up with....

When I first saw this image, from Mo's Digital Pencil, I knew it would be great for those kid Halloween projects and then paired with this old SU! sentiment, it's perfect! I've colored with Copics and added some white gel pen and gold Spica glitter pen accents. I used the sketch from A Spoon Full of Sugar, which I rotated, and then paired with some purple and orange cardstocks and K and Company Halloween paper. I've embellished with satin black ribbon and a couple bows.

This card also fits the following Halloween and Fall themed challenges...
The Pink Elephant - Fall
Digital Tuesday - Boo!
Paper Take Weekly - The Dark Side
Cute Card Thursday - Spook Fest
Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge - Fall
One Stop Craft - Halloween
Stamptacular Sunday - Spook-tacular

Bright and Zingy With Some Bling!

Happy Friday!

Yeah, another weekend almost here! I'm posting early today as I'm off in a few minutes to be a chaperone for my son's field trip today. Hoping that it warms up a little bit though, it's a chilly morning here! Hope you have a day of fun planned today and are looking forward to the weekend.

I have my card to share for the new challenges at Just Magnolia and Stamp Something. I've cheated a little this week and combined the challenges as I was very short on crafting time. The challenge at Just Magnolia is to use some bright and zingy colors on your creation and at Stamp Something we want to see you Bling It!

This is about as bright and zingy as I get! LOL! I don't have many really bright papers and colors, so I went with some Lemonade papers from BasicGrey with Razzleberry and Mambo cardstock from SU!. I've used this sweet Tilda with bike image and colored her with Copics. I also added some glitter to her hair with a gold Spica pen. You'll want to check out this week's Stamp Something blog candy prize and see why I used a Spica pen!!

I've used the sketch from Sketch and Stash and my neglected stash would be my sticky gems. I love these pretties and forget that I have so many! They are also my bling for the SS challenge. I've embellished with faux stitching, Prima flowers, buttons, and ribbon. The buttons and stitching fit the challenge at Cupcake Craft too.

Thanks for dropping by today. I hope you have a fantastic weekend. It's suppose to be cold here, so I hope to have some indoor stamping fun! Happy stamping! :)

Winter Fun

Hi All!

Happy Thursday! Another week just flying on by, where does the time go? I've been busy with stuff around the house and errands, but I made some time this morning to squeeze in some stamping!

I wanted to make a card just for the sake of making a card. It was nice to stamp for fun! I did use a few challenges for some inspiration though.

I wanted to make a holiday card now that I have this fabulous Eskimo Kisses paper from BasicGrey. You can get some too at Paper Maniac! I just love the pretty colors and they match really well with some of the SU! cardstocks. I used Razzleberry, white, and Pink.

I've embossed the white layer with my snowflakes folder and then added some shimmer with my clear Spica glitter pen. It's not very easy to see in the photo though. I've distressed all the edges of the paper to fit the challenge at Charisma Cardz. I love distressing, so this challenge was right up my alley. The layout is from this week's Our Creative Corner challenge.

I embellished with a felt die cut snowflake, some Prima flowers and gems, and some hemp twine and a snowflake charm. The sentiment is from SU! and I've framed it with my oval and window punches. This card also fits the challenges at Creative Card Crew, to use scallops, Everybody Art Challenge to use punches, LaLa Land which is winter and Christmas, and Whiff of Joy challenges to use a WOJ image and dies cuts.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great afternoon. I'm off to clean up the house now, fun times! Happy stamping! :)

Paper Maniac and Doodle Palace

Good Wednesday Morning!

Hope you're having a good week. I've been feeling that the mojo has hit the road lately! I think when I finish here I need to do some blog hopping and gather up some inspiration! Then maybe make a card just for the fun of it!

I have two cards to share today, one is for Paper Maniac. This week were were to focus on using Copic markers and Unity stamps to make a thank you card. I started out with the sketch for this month's Paper Maniac Challenge.

My card uses some red Bazzill cardstock with some other cardstock from SU!. I also used some My Sweet Cherry Pie papers from Paper Maniac. My image is actually some cute little felt stickers also available at Paper Maniac and the sentiment is from the Unity set 100% Happy.

My next card is using a new release image from Doodle Palace! The girls have made some cute Breast Cancer awareness images to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I colored my image with Copics and then made a sweet and simple card. I wanted the pink ribbon to be the focal point. I used a pink and blue color palette and added some pearls and Prima flowers to accent this card. This card also fits the quick and cute theme at My Time to Craft.

Thanks for coming by today. Hope you have a great afternoon! I'm off now to search for some fun challenges in hopes of making some cards just for fun! Happy stamping! :)

Sugar Sugar

Good Morning,

Hope you are having a great week so far! It's still a bit chilly here, I think that summer is long gone now and we are inching our way closer and closer to winter! Boo Hoo! But the colder weather does mean staying in more and having stamping to keep me occupied!

I decided to give the sketch challenge at The Sugar Bowl a try and this is what I came up with....

I haven't used my sweet little Gorjuss Girls in a while, so this was a perfect chance to dust them off and ink one up! I've colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen and a Spica glitter pen. The papers are BasicGrey Two Scoops and SU! pink and navy cardstock. I embellished with Prima flowers and BG buttons and some white gel pen dots. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, Circle Postmarks.

Thanks for coming on by today, I hope to get some blog hopping in later today too! Maybe I'll see you out in blog land! Have a great day, happy stamping! :)

Getting Punchy with Sketch Saturday

Happy Monday All!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend! It's been chilly here but we did get to go up north to see the Fall foliage and we got to see something else too...a moose! It was awesome! I've never seen a wild moose before and on Saturday we got to see three of them eating leaves on the side of the road.

I must have had moose on the brain when making my card for the new Whimsy Challenge, which is "Getting Punchy." We want to see you using those punches and die cutting tools. I've used my Whimsy Moose and a couple punches along with the sketch from Sketch Saturday on my card today.

My papers are from the new line of BasicGrey holiday prints call Eskimo Kisses, I got mine at Paper Maniac. I really love the colors in these papers and the fun prints. I've added some satin ribbon which I also got at Paper Maniac, they have loads and loads of different ribbons all available by the yard. My final embellishments are Prima flowers and BasicGrey buttons.

The image was colored with Copics and then I added some chunky glitter to make the snow. The sentiment is from SU! and I used my oval punches to frame it out.

That's all I have for today. If you're up for a challenge get out those punches and join us at Whimsy Stamps Challenges! Happy stamping! :)

Some Brown and a Sketch

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

Another week coming to a close! Hope it was a good one for you! This is a holiday weekend here in the States and our family is planning to take a trip up north to do some leaf peeping and see all the beautiful Fall foliage before the leaves are gone for another year! Hope you have a great weekend too!

Our challenge this week at Stamp Something is to use the color brown. You can make a card that is a monochromatic style with different shades of brown or you can use brown with other colors. As long as you have brown in good supply on your project, you will have a chance to win our fabulous prize donated by iCopic and be entered for a chance to be selected as Top 5 Stamper!

I created my card with my sister's first anniversary in mind. Her wedding colors were cream and brown so this challenge came at a perfect time! I used this beautiful image from Mo's Digital Pencil and colored it with Copics in browns and creams. I also added some Spica glitter accents, but they are hard to see in the photo. I wanted to go with a vintage feel to keep in line with this image, so I distressed the edges.

The layout is from Inspirational Card Sketches, it's sketch number 37. I used some retired SU! papers and cardstock in cream and brown. The ribbon was from the favors in my sister's wedding. I knew it would come in handy one day. I also embellished with HPH in vanilla to frame their names on the ribbon and then added Prima roses and pearls to finish off this card. This card also fits the embossing challenge at ABC Challenges.

Our challenge for you at Just Magnolia this week is a sketch by the very talented and super sweet Mina! It was a fun sketch to work with and I think I will be using it again sometime!

I went for some cheerful bright colors as I intend to send this card as a birthday wish for a friend. As usual, it's going to be late, as I had poor planning yet again!

I used some June Bug BasicGrey papers with bright pink and soft pink cardstock. My image has been colored with Copics and the I cut out Tilda and popped her up a bit to create more depth. I finished with card with some Prima flowers and buttons and a wide piece of stitched grosgrain ribbon.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend! And if you are up for a challenge, head on over to Stamp Something and Just Magnolia and take part! Happy stamping! :)

A New Emma

Hi Everyone,

I'm back with another card to share with you today. Hope you're having a great afternoon. It's been a weird rainy one minute, sunny the next kind of day here and now it's super windy. Hopefully we won't lose power!

This card uses the new Summer Day Emma stamp available now at Whimsy Stamps! I love her soft flowing hair and the sweet butterflies fluttering around her.

I went with purples and greens for this one and use Wisteria paper from BasicGrey. I used the layout from Friday Sketchers and embellished with ribbon, a dragonfly charm, and a hand made flower with a pearl center. The image was colored with Copics. This card also fits this week's Whimsy Challenge of "Sugar and Spice/Frogs and Snails" to make a card with a girl or boy theme.

Thanks for stopping by today. Remember there is still a few more hours to enter for a chance to win our Whimsy Release Blog Hop candy prize! We'll be drawing the random winner at noon EST tomorrow.

Happy stamping! :)

No Image Stamps

Good Morning!

Hope everyone is having a good week! It's been another crazy busy one here! But I did make some time for crafting last night and it felt great!

I have a card today, which I made for this week's Paper Maniac DT work. Our theme/product focus was on cards using sentiments for the main image. This was a bit tricky for me, as I always use images and most of the time forget the sentiments! LOL!

Paper Maniac carries a great variety of Digital Designs, including this one from the Autumn Sentiment set, created by Raindrop Echo Designs. I printed my sentiment and then colored the leaves with Copics. And I guess I cheated a bit because I picked a sentiment that also had some images! I just wanted to be able to add a bit of color.

The layout is from this week's Kaboodle Doodles challenge and the colors and sentiment fit the Fall Ya'll challenge at Digital-Ink Co. I used some brown cardstock, a green piece of embossed cardstock, and a piece of retired SU! paper. Then I added a piece of felt ribbon and a couple buttons to finish off the card.

Thanks for dropping by today! Have a great day and happy stamping! :)

Celebrating an Anniversary

Good Morning!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and you're off to a great start this week! We had a busy weekend here, lots to do around the house and we also celebrated our Whimsy Stamps New Release Blog Hop! If you missed it, there's still time to check out all the fab DT creations as well as enter for a chance to win our blog hop prize! Just click the link above!

I have a card today that I made for my aunt and uncle for their anniversary. They got married one year ago, so it was an important one! And it also means my card fits the CCT challenge of firsts.

I've used this darling Edwin image which my friend Vicki kindly shared with me. I thought he was perfect for this occasion! I've colored him with Copics and highlighted with some Spica glitter pens for some glitz!

I've used some K and Company papers with Kraft and Vanilla cardstock. I kept the layout simple and clean. Added some taffeta ribbon, Prima flowers, and brads and a final accent of a charm. Then I faux stitched my edges with the white gel pen.

Thanks for dropping by today. I hope to be back tomorrow with another creation! Until then, happy stamping! :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! It's an exciting weekend for Whimsy Stamps! We are hosting a blog hop today that will run until Thursday, October 8th at noon EST. Myself and the talented Whimsy Stamps Design Team have a bunch of fun projects to share which all use the new stamps to be release tomorrow, Monday, October 5th! We have 3 new Animals Collection stamps, 2 new Kids Collections stamps, and 2 new sentiment sets!

My card uses the new Whimsy Cat and Fish stamp! This little kitty sure is up to no good, poor little fish! I've colored my image with Copics and added a bit of white gel pen highlights and some Spica glitter highlights too. I've also heat embossed the fish bowl to create the clear glass effect.

My papers are SU! retired Parisian Breeze designer prints and some chocolate and kraft cardstock. I've used the sketch from CRAFT Challenge and embellished with jumbo brads, satin ribbon, Prima flowers and buttons with hemp twine. My sentiment is from the new Ruff Day sentiment set!

After you leave here, you'll want to hop on over to Stacey's Blog and see what fun creation she has in store for you! Be sure to leave comments on ALL the DT blog hop posts for your chance at the grand prize blog hop candy! Some of the DT will also be drawing random winners, from comments left on their blogs, to receive some mystery candy.

Whimsy Sponsors Saturday Spotlight

Happy Saturday and World Carding Making Day!

I'm excited to share a card with you today that I created for my guest design spot with the brand new weekly challenge, Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential! My dear friend Vicki is the creator and fearless leader of this new challenge and I just know she will do wonderfully creative things with her challenges and her design team! Head on over and see what it's all about!

I'm also honored that Whimsy Stamps is the very first sponsor at Saturday Spotlight! There is a gift certificate up for grabs for one lucky random winner! The challenge this week is to create something for Halloween....but you can't use Halloween stamps! Tricky huh! Still a treat to see all the fun design team creations, head over for some inspiration!

This is my "Happy Halloween" Whimsy Mice card! I changed the "love u" letters to "happy" and then used a sentiment from an old SU! set for the Halloween. The image was colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen and Spica glitter pen.

I used the layout from Truly Scrumptious and my doodling would be the "happy" letters which I had drew. I used some K and Company Halloween paper with SU! purple, orange, and black cardstock. the green layer was embossed with the bubbles folder and CB. I embellished with some grosgrain ribbon, hemp twine and gem charm, a paper hand made flower, button, and brads.

Thanks for dropping by today! I hope you'll celebrate World Card Making Day with us at Saturday Spotlight! Happy stamping! :)

Something with Flower and Something for School

Good Friday Morning!

Hope everyone had a great week! I'm really looking forward to the weekend. We had plans to go up north to do some Fall leaf peeping, but it looks like rain, so we'll have to resort to plan B. Hope you have something fun planned.

Today, I'm going to share my cards for Stamp Something and Just Magnolia. Both of my cards use Magnolia images, but are still very different. I just can't get enough of these sweet stamps!

Our challenge this week at Stamp Something is for you to create something that represents Apples, Teachers, and/or School....all things having to do with the Fall season. I chose to use some school themed papers with the lines for writing and then a couple Magnolia images, one a stack of books and the other this sweet sitting Tilda. Both have been colored with Copics and then I highlighted Tilda with a white gel pen and Spica glitter pen. My layout is from the Victoria Case Stamp Challenge. I really liked this sketch and even though I didn't have a VC stamp, I still wanted to play along. And this card fits the "firsts" challenge at CCT this week, as it could be for the first day of school!

And, our challenge this week at Just Magnolia is a new challenge as well as a new feature. The first Friday of every month will now be the special monthly challenge and this week is a prize of $50 from Simon Says Stamp! We've decided to move the monthly challenges back to the main challenge blog, as it was too confusing. So, the challenge this week is to use Michele Roos' tutorial to make your own handmade flowers. Don't worry if you don't have the dies or punches that Michele used, as long as your flowers are handmade, you can enter for a chance to win!

I went for a Halloween theme with my card and used this cute image that my friend Vicki shared with me. She's been colored with Copics and then I used some K and Company Halloween paper to match. The layout is from Lili of the Valley. I embellished with some black buttons and then my handmade paper flower. I used my EK Success retro flower punches in large and medium to make this flower. I really like the way these look! I think Michele has a fab tutorial that will work with just about any punched out, die cut, or even hand drawn and cut out flower. Hope you'll give it a try and play along with us!

Thanks for stopping by today! If you're up for a challenge, head on over to Stamp Something and Just Magnolia and play along! Have a great weekend. I'll see you back here tomorrow for some fun World Card Making Day news!

Happy stamping!

Layers of Color Christmas

Hi All!

Hope your Thursday is going well! I've been busy stamping all day and doing some DT work. I like days when I can stay busy and look at the clock and it's time for dinner! I should be cooking, but instead I'm going to quickly share a couple cards. Hubby isn't home yet anyway!

I made these using some Layers of Color stamps and both are for Christmas. The first card uses the set Birdday Party. This set was designed as a birthday set, but I think the presents work for the holidays too.

I used brown, red, and olive papers. The image was stamped and colored and then I laid on the olive paper which I ripped "open" to reveal the image. I kept this card pretty clean and simple, just added some ribbon, paper piercing and a brad.

This next card uses the set Reindeer Waltz. I love the pretty scroll work and designs inside the reindeer images. So I played that up by embossing the image in white EP with my heat gun. The papers are beige and blues and I scalloped the edge on either side of the center image. The only embellishment is some wide striped ribbon and gel pen dots.

Thanks for stopping by tonight. Have a great night. See you back here tomorrow for Stamp Something and Just Magnolia! Happy Stamping! :)
