A Birthday Recipe

Happy Friday All!

Hope you had a great week! It's been a crummy rainy one here, but we've made the best of it with the kids on vacation. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend as well. Hope you have a great one too!

Today I only have one card to share and it fits both the challenges at Just Magnolia and Stamp Something. I had planned to create two separate cards as always, but after crafting for hours the other day, my mojo seems to be on vacation now too! But these two challenges work well together and you can do the same if you'd like to join in.

The challenge at Just Magnolia is to use a Magnolia image to create a birthday project. It can be a card or gift item, as long as you use a Magnolia and have the birthday theme you are good to enter! Our Just Magnolia sponsor this week is Jacobi Drachten!

And at Stamp Something we have a fun recipe challenge...a no calorie, fat free recipe too. Just use designer paper, ribbon, and button! You can use any quantity of each, so long as you have each item represented. We have a new special sponsor now at Stamp Something, Simon Says Stamp will be sponsoring one challenge every month, pretty cool huh! This week we have a $20 gift certificate up for grabs!

I got some new goodies in the mail the other day from Simon Says Stamp actually. They were having a great deal on shipping so how could I resist! I decided to use these new treats on this card. First, I started with the sketch from Papertake Weekly and used some new BG Lime Rickey papers and razzleberry and pink card stock. The edges have all been distressed a bit too. I think these papers are so fun, perfect for a cheerful birthday card!

I've also used a new Magnolia image, isn't she darling! She's from the Raise the Ceiling Collection and has been colored with Copics and accented with glitter. I embellished with some Prima flowers and aster daisies, ribbons, a flower button, and my new branch punch. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Oval Snippet Set and I used the tab punch and attached it to the image.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Cute Card Thursday: Ribbon-tastic
Cupcake Craft: Friends
Cute Daisy May: Flowers
Saturday Spotlight: Do the Mess Around
Simon Says Stamp: Vintage with Flowers

Thanks for dropping by today! Hope you have a fantastic weekend. Happy stamping! :)

Sugar in Yellow

Happy Thursday All!

Another week almost over already. Time sure flies when you're having fun! We've been enjoying our school break and mini vacation here at home. We've been getting some not so nice weather, which has been keeping us indoors, but we're making the best of it. And really, can't complain when you can sleep in every morning and no one needs to get ready for work or school!

I've been a doing a fair amount of crafting this week too, which has been really nice. Today I have a card for the Sugar Bowl challenge using an older stamp for the main image. I got this one from my friend Deb a while ago and have only used her a few times.

The papers are BG Origins with some chocolate, olive, and banana card stock. Funny how they are all colors that name a food! Hmmmm, maybe I was hungry when creating this one! LOL! I've used the sketch from the Sugar Bowl challenge, but forgot about the please add extra part to the challenge, so I don't have all those other elements. Oops! I've embellished with Prima flowers and roses, my branch punch, a flower button, ribbon, and a sentiment from the Oval Snippets Set available at Whimsy Stamps.

Thanks for popping on over today. I'll be back tomorrow with my cards for the new Just Magnolia and Stamp Something challenges, hope to see you then! Happy stamping! :)

Water Lily

Good Morning!

How's your day going? Good I hope! I'm planning a quiet day of stamping today as it's a wintry mess outside so we won't be going anywhere. Yesterday I stamped for a while and created 4 cards, it was so nice. I'm hoping that mojo is still with me today!

I wanted to share one of my creations using Water Lily, one of the new addition Mythical Collection stamps at Whimsy Stamps.

I actually colored her a week or so ago, but only yesterday finally had time to make a card with her. I've used the sketch from Friday Sketchers and some BG Lily Kate papers. This is a pretty simple card with soft colors and glitter accents and flowers. The sentiment is from our new Oval Snippets Set.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Cute Daisy May: Flowers
Color Throwdown: Brown, Pink/White, Olive

Thanks for stopping over today. Be sure to visit the Whimsy Inspirations Blog today to see the fun creations the DT gals have posted so far this week!

Hope you have a good day with lots of crafty goodness! Happy Stamping. :)

A Simple One

Hi All!

Hope you're having a great day. We've been busy with errands and a dentist appointment, which went really well I have to say! It was for my 6 year old and he went in the all by himself and 10 minutes later he was done! Last time was a nightmare, so this was a really nice surprise! And when we got home, I had some time to stamp too...so far, a pretty good day!

I've created a very simple card, well simple for me anyway! I usually load my cards up with lots of embellishments and flowers, so keeping this one simple was indeed a challenge for me.

I started out with this adorable image from Mo's Digital Pencil and colored with copics and added some gel pen highlights and stickles. The image is so cute on it's own, I think it makes for a great image to use on a simple card. I've used the sketch from The Pink Elephant with some pink and white card stock and one piece of BG Eva paper. The white layer was embossed with the Swiss Dots folder and my Big Shot. I embellished simply with a piece of ruffled ribbon and some pearls.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Mo's Digital Pencil: Clean and Simple, and GDT call
A Spoon Full of Sugar: Pearls and Glitter
Cupcake Craft: Friends

Thanks for coming on by today! Hope you have a wonderful night, happy stamping! :)

One For Baby

Happy Monday All!

Hope you had a great weekend. It's winter break here for the kids this week so we are relaxing and hanging around the house in our PJs most days! Although, today we are planning to see a friend for a play date, so that will make for a fun day!

Before we're off for the day, I did want to share a card I created for a new baby! I haven't made a baby card in while so I had fun with this one. I went and bought a new image from Mo's Digital Pencil just for the occasion too!

Isn't this image adorable! I love the chubby baby cheeks and the sweet smile. I've colored her with copics and added some gel pen highlights. I've also entered this for the Mo's GDT call. I love doing design work and a GDT spot would be lots of fun! The papers are SU! retired designer prints with distressed edges. I've embellished with Prima flowers, roses, lace ribbon, satin ribbon, a baby shoe charm, and a frame for the sentiment. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps new Oval Snippets Set and I am just loving them! They work perfectly with various punches too.

This card fits the challenges at:
Saturday Spotlight: Doing the Mess Around
Stamp with Us: Color Combo/Inspiration Challenge
Stamptacular Sunday: Going in Circles
Digital Tuesday Challenges: All Things Girly

Thanks for dropping on by today, have a great Monday! Happy Stamping! :)

A Sketch and a Touch of Spring

Happy Friday All!

Hope you've had a good week! It's been another busy one here. Thanks to all who took part in our Whimsy Stamps Magical Mythical Tour blog hop! Love to read your comments and reactions to our new stamp releases. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

First, today I have my Stamp Something card for our new challenge "Touch of Spring Somethings" sponsored by Whiff of Joy. I've used a WOJ image and some SU! papers for this card.

I used the sketch from Everybody Art Challenge. The image was colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. I embellished with brads and a jumbo eyelet to fit the metal challenge at Cute Card Thursday and then some flowers and ribbon. I also did some faux stitching with a white gel pen to fit the challenge at Crafty Creations.

Next, I have my card for the new Just Magnolia challenge which is a sketch from our talented designer Jay Jay. It's a really simple sketch to use and will work great with lots of different images. I had a lot of fun with this one, thanks Jay Jay!

I've used BasicGrey Origins papers with yellow, olive, and chocolate card stock. My image was colored with Copics and highlighted with a gel pen. I used the Martha Stewart Lace punch for the edging on the green layer. Used oval Nesties to frame sweet Tilda and added faux stitching accents. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps framed with some metal hardware. The final touches are Prima flowers and ribbon, and hemp twine with a charm.

Thanks for dropping on over today! Hope you have a great Friday and a fabulous weekend! Happy stamping! :)

I've used her on this easel card with the sentiment "best wishes" from our new Oval Snippets Set designed by Raindrop Echo Designs. These new sentiments work great with EK Success oval punches and some of the Nestabilities sets as well. I've used the large oval punch and scalloped oval punch to frame my sentiment.

I had lots of fun coloring this image. All the new images are fun to color actually, quick and easy too! I've used Copics and then stickles on the wings. The papers are BasicGrey Eva with distressed edges. The base of the easel card is chocolate chip card stock and then I also used razzleberry and pink card stock layers. I've embellished with Prima flowers and aster daisies, lace and satin ribbon, and a mushroom charm.

Whimsy Sneak Peek Day 1

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We stayed in for most of it with sick kiddos, but got some stuff around the house finished and I got some time to stamp too. Not a bad weekend, but I wish my kids would stop getting every germ known to man and sharing with each other!

So today is our first day of Whimsy Stamps sneak peeks to share the new Mythical Collection releasing on Wednesday the 17th. Our design team will be hosting a "Magical Mythical Tour" blog hop on Wednesday, but in the meantime some designers will have sneak peeks at the new stamps for you today and tomorrow!

I have a little sneak peek for you today using the new stamp "Shy-Ann" and she's a rather sweet fairy! We are very excited about this new stamp collection. They are fun and whimsical and a little different too!

Shy-Ann was designed by our artist Katie Sowa who is also the Animals Collection artist. She's created 3 fairies and a mermaid for this release! We hope you will enjoy them as much as we do! I had a blast coloring all 4 images this weekend, but I only had time enough to make one card. Hoping to make another later today!

I've colored the image with Copics and then cut her out and added stickles to her wings. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers with some DCWV papers from the Fairytale Stack. I've embellished with lots of flowers, ribbon, and some brads.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Pile It On!: Flowers
The Pink Elephant: Ribbon

I'll be back tomorrow with another sneak peek, until then here's a little teaser!

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you have a great Monday! Be sure to stop by the new Whimsy Inspirations Blog later today for links to the other DT member sneak peeks for today! Happy Stamping! :)

For my card, I started with the sketch from Sketch Saturday and paired it with some BasicGrey Bittersweet papers. We have a special week this week as Stamp Something is also participating in the new release blog hop for Wags 'n Whiskers stamps! Lacey from Wags kindly provided images for the SS DT to work with this week and they are really adorable!

I've used the new image Happy day created by Wags 'n Whiskers new artist Cris de Lara. I think she's darling and perfect for a sprint time/cheerful card! A Pink Confection

Happy Wednesday All!

Hope you're having a good day! I went and ran errands this morning and the cleaned up the house a bit and finally treated myself to an hour of crafting! A good day so far!

The card I have to share today fits a few challenges including the new Whimsy Challenge on SNR to create something with sweetness and love in mind! Whimsy is also sponsoring a couple other challenges this week so I fit this card to those as well. First is the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp and then the recipe challenge from A Spoon Full of Sugar. If you participate in these challenges you could win a gift certificate to shop in the Whimsy online store!

I used this sweet Purr-fect Gift stamp for my card today. I just love this little sweetheart and it's a great stamp for paper piecing. I colored with Copics and then pieced with the same paper that I used on the background layer. I've used dry embossing and a piece of ribbon and button to complete the recipe from ASFoS challenge. I also added some gel pen dots and white brads and a sentiment punched with the word window and modern label punches. This sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps but won't be available until next week! So stay tuned for more new release info in the coming days!

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you have a great afternoon! It's snowing here now, but not sticking to the ground yet...fine by me! Happy stamping! :)

A Blue Valentine

Hi All!

Hope your week is off to a great start! We had a really good weekend and I took a break from work, so now I'm playing catch up. I did find some time to squeeze in a bit of stamping today though. It's been days and days since I created anything so it was much needed stamping therapy!

I started out with an image that Erin shared with me from the new Belles n' Whistles collection. I just love the sweetness of this image. I knew I wanted to make a Valentine card with it, but I went with a non-traditional color combo.

I started with the sketch from Papertake Weekly, but not I'm not sure it resembles the sketch all that much! Got to love when that happens. I used some retired Stampin' Up! papers in Bayou and Chocolate and distressed the edges for a tattered look. I embellished with lots of flowers and roses, some brads and sticky pearls, a piece of satin ribbon, and a heart charm attached with hemp twine. I'm very excited to say that Whimsy Stamps is now carrying an assortment of charms in our online shop! This heart within a heart is available to purchase in a set of 4 with 2 different sizes.

This card also fits the challenges at:
The Pink Elephant: Valentines
Everybody Art Challenge: Valentines
Stamp with Fun: Hearts
Creative Card Crew: Valentines

Thanks for dropping by today! Hope you have a fabulous Tuesday! Happy stamping! :)

Love and a Basket

Happy Friday!

I'm very much looking forward to the weekend! It's been a cold and busy week here. Tonight we have dinner with friends and a kid free evening and then this weekend we are celebrating my daughter's birthday with family and friends. I'm hoping to spend Sunday stamping, we'll see how that turns out. Hope you have a great weekend planned too!

Today we have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Something. Our challenge is "Love Somethings" and our sponsor is Bunny Zoe Crafts. If you haven't been to Nikki's shop, you need to hop on over and check out her fabulous selection of crafting goodies!

I tried to use some products that you can find at Bunny Zoe Crafts in my card today. I've used my Whimsy Love You Mice stamp and some DCWV papers with sketch from Friday Sketchers last week. I used the Martha Stewart lace punch on the edging and embellished with Prima flowers, brads, and sticky gems, some stickles and a wire heart.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Charisma Cardz - I Love You
Cute Card Thursday - Spots and Dots
Creative Card Crew - Valentines
Papertake Weekly - Love Actually

Next, I have my Just Magnolia challenge project to share with you. This week is our special monthly challenge with a fab tutorial for creating a basket with designer paper.

I've used some Stampin' Up! paper and used the tutorial to weave a basket together. Then I embellished with flowers and roses, ribbon, and a dragon fly charm. I also used my Martha Stewart lace punch again. My image is Tilda with Tag and she's been colored with copics and cut out and adhered to the basket. To get a good picture I laid the basket on it's side, plus I was fresh out of candy so my basket is empty anyway.

Be sure to stop by Stamp Something and Just Magnolia this week to check out the samples my fellow design team members have created and if you have some time, we hope you'll join in the challenges too! Have a great weekend! Happy stamping!

A Thank You

Afternoon All!

I was hoping to get this card posted a lot earlier than this, but here it is after 4pm and I'm only just getting to it now. Been one of those days when all the plans just aren't working they way I want them too. But, can't complain as it's been a fairly good day. Hope you're having a nice day too!

This card was made using an image I received in a swap along with some new BasicGrey Origins papers. I'm really loving these but I'm out of card stock to go with them after this card! Time for a Stampin' Up! workshop!

I started out using the sketch from A Spoon Full of Sugar, but then realized that I didn't have a way to make big hearts, so I used flowers instead. I've distressed my papers with scissors and then used some lace ribbon and and a pretty green ribbon with ruffly edges. I embellished with Prima flowers and roses and brads for the corners. The sentiment is from SU! short and sweet with stickles added here and there for shimmer!

This card fits the challenges at:
Every Body Art Challenge: Thank You
ABC Challenge: N is for New (my BG papers and this image)
Scrap, Stamp and Doodle: Open
Cute Card Thursday: Blooming Gorgeous

Thanks for dropping by today, hope you have a great night. Happy stamping! :)

Happy Birthday Emma

Happy Monday!

Hope you had a nice weekend and that your week is off to a good start. Today is my darling daughter's birthday! It's amazing how quickly they grow up! We're having a quiet day just us girls and then later today we'll have a little family party. So, we decided to make cards together this morning. Well, I made a card and she colored.

This is the card I created for her using the stamp "Untamed Love" available at Whimsy Stamps.

I colored the image with Copics and then stamped the edges with the heart branch accessory that comes with this stamp. I also added some stickles to the edging. I CASED the card design from my friend and fellow DT member Deb. She created a gorgeous card last week using the "Wings of Hope" image and I thought it was perfect for this image as well. I've changed the colors and papers and rotated the layout, but it's similar.

I've gone a little flower crazy on this card, but I love them as does Emma so in this case it's perfect! I've also embellished with some lace ribbon and pink silk ribbon and a heart charm. The papers are BasicGrey and the edges have been distressed. This card fits the "frilly" challenge in our Whimsy SNR group for this week too. The challenge will be posted this afternoon, hope you will join in with us!

This card also fits some other challenges:
Cupcake Craft: four legged and furry
Cute Daisy May: Valentine's
The Pink Elephant: Pink
BasicGrey Challenges: Animals and BG products
Saturday Spotlight: Bigger is Better
Pile It On!: no winter colors

Thanks for dropping by today! Hope you have a great day, happy stamping! :)
