Whimsy Sneak Peek - Day 1

Good Morning!

Wow, it's Thursday already! Where did this week go? Hope it's been a nice week for you. We've been busy here gearing up for the Whimsy Stamps Holiday release. Today is the start of 3 days of sneak peeks leading up to the release of brand new rubber stamps over at Whimsy Stamps. We have 9 new stamps/sets releasing on Sunday, Oct. 3rd at Noon EST and will be celebrating with a Holiday Blog Hop!  We hope you will join us for a day of fun with special guests and the Whimsy DT.

Today, I am sharing a card made using 2 of the new stamps. First is Starry Night, drawn by Crissy Armstrong, of this sweet pair of friends staring up at a starry night sky. Aren't they just adorable! And also a background stamp called Classified Ads created by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs. I just love this new text stamp, perfect for creating your own designer paper.

I have gone for a vintage look for this card and didn't even color my image. I've stamped on chocolate and distressed inks and then distressed all the edges with scissors. I've embellished with ribbon, flowers, and eyelets.

On Tuesday, I posted a sneak peek and offered up this stamp as blog candy to the person who guessed what the image on this card was. No one had the answer exactly right, but the person with the closest guess was....
jan farnworth said...
i am going to guess a polar bear looking up at a pretty winter night sky.
Congrats to you Jan! Please contact me with your mailing info and I will get that stamp out to you ASAP! Thanks to all who joined in for this little game, reading your answers was a lot of fun. There will be many more prize chances on Sunday during our hop, so hope to see you then!

Now, there are other Whimsy DT gals showing some sneak peeks today too. If you are up for some eye candy, head on over to...

Thanks for dropping by today! See you tomorrow for new Stamp Something and Just Magnolia challenges and maybe another little sneaky peek at more Whimsy too! Have a great day!

Wanna Win Some Whimsy Holiday Rubber?

Happy Monday All!

Hope you had a great weekend! This week is going to be a very busy one as Whimsy Stamps gears up for the release our first round of Holiday Rubber Stamps. We will be adding 9 new stamps/sets to our growing collections and all of these will be available to purchase on this Sunday, October 3rd. There will be a design team blog hop with lots of awesome guest designers joining us and many prize chances for you!

In honor of the release I thought it might be fun to play a little game while also giving you a sneak peek at one of the new stamps! We are going to call this game "Guess The Stamp?" And all you need to do is leave a comment with your guess as to what you think the image is on this card could possibly be.

The first person to guess correctly will win this stamp. Now I know this is going to be a little tricky, so you don't have to guess exactly, but whoever is closest first will win.  And, I will give you a hint....

This image was drawn by Crissy Armstrong and it fits our holiday/winter themed release.

To enter, please leave a comment in the comment section with your guess. The card and image will be revealed on Thursday this week, when the design team starts sharing sneak peeks at all the new rubber stamps.  I will announce our lucky winner at the same time. So give it a shot, take a chance, and you just might win!

Thanks for playing along and good luck!

Fall Sketch

Happy Friday!

Hope everyone has had a great week! I'm happy it's Friday, but also sad as my aunt, who has been visiting, will be leaving today. Hopefully before long she will be back for another visit. Looking forward to a nice weekend though and another visit with my sister and her kids on Sunday. Hope you have some nice things planned too.

Today is new challenge day over at Just Magnolia and Stamp Something. I chose to combine these challenges into one card today since my crafting time has been cut short lately. The challenge at JM is a sketch by our teamie Dawny P and the SS challenge is Fall Colors.

I used Dawny's sketch with these pretty fall colored Indian Summer BG papers. I've stitched the edges on the sewing machine. The images where done with the masking technique and colored with Copics. I've embellished with flowers, leaves, ribbon, and a tag with a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Copic Creations: shading around or on the image
Creative Card Crew: Autumn
Everybody Art Challenge: Autumn
Charisma Cards: Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes: fall colors

Thank you all for stopping by today. Hope you have a great weekend!

Some Wednesday Whimsy

Good Morning!

How is your week going? We have been busy here with school and work and also visiting with my aunt who is staying with us for a week. It's been really nice to have her here, we've missed her. I have not had much time for crafting lately with all the Whimsy mess last week and visits this week, but I did manage to squeeze in one card yesterday.

I finally inked up my Maya and Marissa stamp from the Crissy Armstrong Collection at Whimsy Stamps. I can't believe we released this image in July and I've only just now had the time to ink it up. Shame shame!

I went for vintage with this card and did lots of distressed and some cracked glass on the image. I used the crackle glue from Inkssentials to achieve the cracked glass look. It cracked really well this time, you never quite know how it will turn out. The papers are K and Company and have been distressed with an edge distressing tool. I've embellished with ribbons and flowers.

This card fits the challenges at:
A Spoon Full of Sugar: Anything Goes - sponsored by Whimsy
Pixie Cottage: Sketch and/or Fun and Games
The Pink Elephant: Aqua, designer paper, embellishment

Thank you for stopping by today. I should be back at least on Friday with a new card for Just Magnolia and Stamp Something. Have a super day!

Some Odd Cutie

Happy Sunday!!

Hope you are having a great weekend. I'm just sorry it's almost over. Weekends always go by in a flash. Hoping this week will be a stress free, easy going week...and not at all like last week!

Today I wanted to share the card I made for this week's Stamp Something challenge. I didn't get a chance to make my card for Friday's post, so I'm posting it now. Our challenge this week is Go Digi, to use something digital on your creation. I have used this little cutie from Some Odd Girl, one of our sponsors for this challenge.

I got out the Big Shot and CB folders for this card and didn't use any designer paper...GASP! To me a card without DP is like a cake without frosting, but alas I didn't have anything that went well enough with the image so I had to make my own designer paper. I've used the swirls and bubbles folders for the mermaid/sea theme and then all blue and white colors. I also sprayed the papers with Glimmer Mist, but it's not showing up in the photo. I finished off with some flowers, sticky gems, and a piece of satin ribbon.

This card also fits the challenge at:
Secret Crafter: anything goes

Thanks for dropping tonight. Hope you have a nice evening and a great start to your week tomorrow!

Whimsy Stamps NOW OPEN

Just a quick message to let you all know that Whimsy Stamps online shop is now back open for business!!! We appreciate your patience and support these last few days and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Stay tuned for all the fun and fabulous new releases and events to come over the next few weeks!

Meljen's Designs Little Layered Flower Collection has now been added to the store and is available to purchase for immediate download.

Thank you all and have a great weekend!

Lace it Up and an Update

Morning and Happy Friday!

Boy what a week! I do want to share that I have some good news....the Whimsy Store is back online however we are not quite ready for shoppers. There are a few kinks still needing to be worked out and we are hopeful we can accomplish that today. We are working hard to get things back to normal for our customers and are very grateful for the continued support and patience. Thank you all!

Today being Friday is new challenge day over at Just Magnolia and Stamp Something. Sadly, I do not have a card for Stamp Something, but the challenge is another "Go Digi Day" and we have some great sponsors joining us. Hope you will give the challenge a try. I hope that maybe later this weekend, once things have settled down and return to normal, maybe I will have a chance to make my card.

I do have my card for Just Magnolia this week as I had it made before all of this mess happened. The challenge this week is "Lace It Up" and you can interpret that how you choose. It could be using lace or lace ribbon or doing some actual lacing on your card. I chose to do both!

I went for vintage and distressed on this card. I used scissors to distress the edges of my K and Company papers and then added eyelets and ribbon to do the lacing on the top corner. I've embellished with flowers, lace, a lace doily, and a ballerina charm. My Tilda ballerina was colored with copics and highlighted with stickles.

Thanks for dropping by today. I hope to have an update about the Whimsy Store soon. Have a great day and a super weekend!

Whimsy Stamps UPDATE

Morning,

I am sure many of you have noticed that the Whimsy Stamps store is off line. On Sunday we closed the store for what we thought would be 24 hours to perform maintenance on the store and move everything to a new server. We had been having many server issues in recent weeks and were hopeful that moving to a new server would remedy that.

Well, now more than 96 hours later the server switch is done but the store has crashed. I do have someone who helps me with tech support as I am not savvy when it comes to the admin side of running a website. She is working very hard to restore things, but every time she makes a little head way something else goes wrong.  And because I don't know how to help her, I really don't have any information as to when things will be fixed.

At this time I have no idea when the store will be back on line and while I sit here in a puddle of my own tears, I am at a loss for what to do. I am SO sorry to my artists and all of my loyal customers. If I had ever known something like this could/would happen, I would have lived with the old server and suffered through. It was never my intention to be off line for as long as we have and each day makes me sadder and sadder.

I do want everyone who placed orders before the server went down to know that I have those records printed out and your product(s) will be on the way to you shortly. Custom designs will be arriving here tomorrow and shipping out ASAP. If you have purchased a digital image and were not able to retrieve it, just shoot me an email and I will send you your file. Again, I would like to apologize for the delays and confusion and all this inconvenience.

Please do know that I am not giving up! Even if it means starting the store over, I will have it up and running again. We have some amazing things coming in the next few weeks and I can't wait for you to be able to see. I just need sone time to get things going again. And if you hang in there with me, I will have a little surprise for you when we return.

Thank you to all of those who have sent comments and emails of support. Whimsy has the BEST friends and customers. And we will return....just not exactly sure on the time. I will post updates here and on the Whimsy Blog as often as I have new information. Thanks everyone.

Sweet and Shy

Happy Monday!

Hope you had a lovely weekend and that your Monday is going well too. We are currently working behind the scenes over at Whimsy Stamps to get our store moved to a new server. Sorry for the inconvenience to anyone trying to visit the site, we should be back up soon. And hopefully all the issues will be solved and the site will move quicker.

I have a card to share with you that I made this afternoon using a sweet Mo's Digital Pencil image.

I colored the image with Copics and then attached her to a mini card that flips up to reveal a sentiment underneath. The papers are BG Capella and the edges have been distressed with scissors. I've embellished with lace and flowers.

The inside sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs Digital Collection at Whimsy Stamps. This one is from the set Gracie's Roses sentiments and I thought it worked nicely with this sweet little girl.

This card also fits the challenges at:
Sketch Saturday: sketch
Mo's Digital Pencil Challenges: Folds and Flowers
Totally Gorjuss: Flowers

Thanks for dropping by today. Oh before I go, did you notice my new watermark and signature? Ann from Raindrop Echo Designs created these for me and I LOVE them! BIG HUGE thanks to Ann! You can purchase your own at Whimsy, once the store reopens that is. Should be very soon, fingers crossed!

A Sketch and Some Spots and Stripes

Good Morning!

Ahhh, so happy to see you again Mr. Friday! Hope you've all had a great week. Ours was pretty busy. Had to learn new routines for school and work, yep back to normal now that summer is officially over. So sad :( Here's hoping for a fun Fall season though!

Friday's are fun as always, today is new challenge day over at Just Magnolia and Stamp Something. At JM this week we have a sketch by the fabby Dawny! And remember, as always you must follow the challenge theme and use a Magnolia image to qualify for the blog candy prize.

I've used this sweet Tilda with her newspapers, not sure of the correct name. I colored her with Copics. The papers are K and Company and I've distressed the edges with scissors. I embellished with flowers, brads, and some ticket sentiments from Whimsy Stamps.

This card also fits at:
Fab n Funk: What Eva
Artful Inkables: Distressed Out
Sentimental Sundays: A Recipe

Next is my Stamp Something card using our challenge theme of Spots and Stripes. And I've used a Pixie Cottage stamp in honor of our challenge sponsor Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.

I went for a vintage feel on this card and used some Graphic 45 papers and stitched the edges on the sewing machine. The image was colored with Copics and then I added the Crackle glue to give the cracked glass effect.  Really love that effect and so easy to do with that glue! I've embellished with flowers and eyelets and used the same ticket sentiment as on my JM card. I just can't get enough of the tickets!

This card also fits at:
Paper Play: autumn is coming
Stampin for the Weekend: Vintage

Thanks for dropping by today. Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Stamping,

School Time Bunny

Morning All!

I'm going to make this a quick post because it's almost time to pick my daughter up from school. Hope you have a fabby Thursday!

Today is new Meljen's Designs release day at Whimsy Stamps. Each Thursday Melissa adds more fun digital stamps to her growing collection! You can see all the new images HERE. I used the new image School Time Bunny and Little Chalk Board to make my Back to School themed card today.

I found these papers in my stash, not sure what brand they are, sorry. I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and stitched the paper edges on the sewing machine. My images were printed out and then colored with Copics. I framed the chalk board with circle nesties and then cut out and adhered this sweet little bunny to the image. I've embellished with eyelets, flowers, ribbon, and some Scrabble game letters. This card also fits this week's Meljen's Designs challenge of Back to School!

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you have a great afternoon!

Whimsy Release - Custom Rubber Stamps

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

Today is the day...the new custom rubber stamp designs at Whimsy Stamps are now available to order! Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs has created a wide selection of styles to choose from and each can be customized with a font of your choice along with custom lines of your personal information. These stamps are perfect for "signing" your artwork, "branding" your designs, or even addressing your envelopes!

To see the complete selection, please visit the shop and click on the Custom Rubber Stamps link on the sidebar. We also have a Questions and Answers page all about this new product offering and how the whole process works!

This is the stamp I ordered for myself....
This is style Frame 3 with my font selection of Emily (which applies to the name portion only) and then the custom lines include my name and blog address. This particular style has 4 lines of custom text available. I choose to leave the sample as is with the "100% handmade by" and "created with love" lines and then changed my name and blog information to personalize the stamp.

Each of these stamps is made from deep etched gray rubber and the stamp itself is created using a laser machine to etch the design into the rubber. Production takes about 1 week and then we will ship your stamp to you. We are estimating about 7 to 10 business days for delivery here in the USA or slightly longer for International destinations. Hop on over to the Custom Rubber Stamp section today and check out all the options available to you!

Happy Stamping,

Summer Sweetness

Hi All!

Happy Tuesday! Boy, I intended to make this post more than a few hours ago, what happened to all the time in this day! Hope you had a nice weekend and that your week is off to a good start too. I'll be making this a quick post since it's already so late and now I have to make dinner.

I made card this morning using this adorable Mo Manning image called Lacie with Ice Cream. I just love this image, perfect for Summer and she's just so sweet and sassy too! Can you tell I'm not ready to give up on Summer yet.

I colored the image with copics and the framed it with Circle Nesties. I also added some stickles to the ice cream. The papers are BG Lemonade with some yellow and white card stock. I stitched the bottom layer on the sewing machine and then embellished with a doilie and some ribbon, pearls, and flowers.

This card fits the challenges at:
Copic Creations: Pleats or Folds in clothing
Digital Tuesday: Stripes and Dots
My Time to Craft: Jewelled
Alphabet Challenge: S is for scallops
Pile it On!: Layers
Simon Says Stamp and Show: Layers

Thanks so much for dropping by today! Hope you have a marvelous evening!

Cracked Glass with Something Cute

Happy Friday!!

And, happy start of a long holiday weekend to all those celebrating Labor Day this weekend here in the States. Unfortunately, that means the end of summer and back to school for most, but summer can't last forever can it. We are getting into the swing of things ourselves with school and new routines. Hoping for a relaxing weekend though!

Today is new challenge day over at Just Magnolia and Stamp Something. At JM this week, we are starting a new month and that means a new monthly challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. Normally we ask you all to participate in a "special monthly challenge," but as a team we have decided that each new monthly challenge will have the theme of "Anything Goes" so that everyone who wants to play can play. We decided this after we set our challenge for September to be the cracked glass technique on your projects. It was a rather difficult technique and frustrated many of us on the DT, however if you want to try it, we'd love to see what you can do. You can find a tutorial HERE. So this challenge is now "Anything Goes" and/or Cracked Glass and remember to also include a Magnolia image on your creation.

For my card I went for a vintage feel to fit with the cracked glass. I used some K and Company papers from the Life's Journey pad. Then stitched the edges on the sewing machine and used some distressed inks on the cream layer edges. I colored the image, Tilda with Peony, with copics and then did the cracked glass and framed it using some hodgepodge hardware. I have to let you in on a little secret, I didn't have any embossing powder to do this technique so I cheated, GASP! I used Inkssentials Crackle Accents glue. And I have to say, waiting for it to dry was a pain, but it really gives the same effect with far less work. I really do love the effect of the cracked glass and would do it again, but definitely with the glue.

I finished by embellishing with flowers, ribbons, charms, some pearls, and a sentiment from the ticket sentiment set available at Whimsy Stamps. This card also fits some other challenges....
Moving Along with the Times: In Stitches
Paper Play: In Stitches
Cute Card Thursday: Material Girl
Fab n' Funky: Living in a Material World
ABC: C is for Charms
Die Cute Dreams: shades of vintage

Next I have my SS card to share. This week our challenge is for you to share with us something CUTE! It can be anything from a card to scrap book page, as long as it's cute, you can enter this week! We are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps and they have kindly offered images for the DT to work with.  I used Teddy Bug Jar....

I printed out my image and colored with copics and then stitched the edges of the papers. The image was framed with Oval Nesties and also stitched. The papers are Cosmo Cricket with some blue and red SU card stock. I finished off with some ribbons and eyelets on the corners.

This card also fits at:
Papertake Weekly: Just the One - used only one DP

Thanks for coming on over today. Have a marvelous day and a relaxing weekend. See you soon!!

Happy Stamping,

Ready for Some Football

Morning!

Hope your day is off to a great start. I know mine will be busy as usual, but before I get started I wanted to share a card I made for the new Meljen's Designs release. Melissa has created 5 more fun and fabulous new digital images to add to her Meljen's Designs digital collection.

The image I chose to work with for my card today is called Fall Ball Teddy Bear and he's all dressed and ready for some FOOTBALL! And since football season is upon us, he's perfect!

I decided to go for bright and fun on this card. I colored my image with Copics in reds and blues with a touch of orange to match these Cosmo Cricket papers. I've been wanting to try the little pennant banners and so I thought it was perfect on a football themed card. Super easy to make these, so I will be doing it again. Then I embellished with glitter and buttons. Pretty simple, but still fun!

This card fits the challenges at:
Paper Romance: Furry Friends
Cookin it up with Katie: Furry Friend, Button, Patchwork
Pollycraft: a little nature
Sentimental Sundays: Clean and Simple (maybe a stretch, but this is simple for me, lol)
Bee Crafty: Anything Goes
Meljen's Designs: Stripes

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you have a wonderful day, stay cool! It's suppose to be almost 100 degrees here today....HOT!

Happy Stamping,

I have a card to share too, using Crissy's new image Daisy Butterfly. These new butterflies are so beautiful and unique too. I really enjoyed coloring this one and even had some daisy flowers to match!

I colored with Copics in purples and greens with a touch of yellow to match the daisy flowers and papers. The papers are SU! and have been stitched on the edges with a sewing machine. I've embellished with pearls, brads, ribbon, and the flowers.
