A Sketch and Something Cute

Happy Friday!

Boy what a long week this has been. It was a suppose to be a short week with the holiday on Monday, but then we had a snow storm and the kids were out on Tuesday too. And then a late start on Wednesday due to ice and now it's snowing again! Ahhhh, winter!

Today is new challenge day over at both Just Magnolia and at Stamp Something. I hope you will stop over to the blogs and check out the samples from my fellow teammates and give these new challenges a go!

First up is my card for the challenge at Stamp Something. This week we are sponsored by Sugar Nellie Stamps and so we thought lets go with "Cute Somethings" seeing as all of their stamps are super cute! They kindly donated stamps for our team to work with this week too, but I couldn't resist purchasing one of the new Simply Adorables digital stamps! TOO CUTE!

I printed the image on Neehah cardstock and then colored with Copics. This image was fun to color as there are "cheat" shading areas that really help with where the colors should go. Then I used some new papers that my sweet friend Crystal sent me recently. I love the gingham prints and the pinks and yellows together. I've embellished with ribbon, a charm, and some flowers.

This card also fits at:
Creative Belli  - anything beginning with "P"  - pink papers
Penny's Paper-Crafty – anything goes
Karber Weekly - DIGI STAMP and Ribbon

Next is my card for this week's Just Magnolia challenge. This week we have a fun sketch from our lovely Donalda, who we all missed while she was away. Welcome back sweetie! This is a sketch I know for sure I will be using again as it would work with so many images!

For this card I used two different pieces of paper from the BG Hopscotch pad which were also a gift from Crystal! I've stitched the edges on the sewing machine. The images were colored with Copics and then I cut out Tilda and popped her on the cupcake with foam tape. I've framed the images with Lacy Circle Nesties and then embellished with ribbon, sticky pearls, flowers, and some glitter.

This card also fits at:
Freshly Brewed - love or Valentine's themed
Simon Says Stamp - choose 3 items in a straight line from the BINGO
Paper Take Weekly - Ribbons and Pearls
Pollycraft - Pastel Colours

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm!

Shape Something

Happy Friday All!

We have a fun new challenge for you over at Stamp Something! This week we want you to show us your shapes! Get creative with various shapes on your projects. See how many shapes you can squeeze onto one card or scrap book page or create a 3D project made out of different shaped items! Be sure to check out the fun design team samples and this week's blog candy, which has been donated by out very own DT member Marcea!

For my card I was inspired by my friend Hanne and her fabulous eye for detail and texture. I adore her style! I got creative with this card, using as many differently shaped items as I could fit on one piece of 5" cardstock!

I used the layout from the new challenge blog Stamp with Fun. The papers are BasicGrey and SU! cardstock in Black, Riding Hood Red, Soft Sky, and Baja Breeze. For my shapes I have a tag, circles, a heart, and some flower shaped buttons.

I distressed some of the papers to create texture and added lace ribbon, ric rac, and grosgrain ribbons. The heart is chipboard painted with craft ink and sprinkled with glitter. The image is a Gorjuss Girl I received from a swap. She's been colored with Copics. I added some twine to a circular green button and then glued on a bird from the patterned paper and placed that on the top corner. I also used a white gel pen to create some faux stitching. I finished with a sentiment from Short and Sweet by SU! held on with a mini paperclip with a flower charm.

Here's the inside of this card. For more shape fun I used the scalloped circle punch and square punch, then finished with a circle to write the message on. I also stamped a couple more thank you sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a fantastic weekend. Maybe it will be warm and the Easter Bunny won't be too cold while he's hiding all those eggs! Enjoy your Easter Sunday! Happy Stamping! :)

Sketch Saturday and Citrus Colors

Hi All, happy Tuesday!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Things have been busy here, but I finally had some time to stamp! I also wanted to thank those of you who participated in our first Whimsy Blog Hop. I thought that the DT did a fabulous job, the creations were all spectacular! I hope you enjoyed hopping as much as I did! There's still time to enter for a chance at the Blog Hop candy, I'll be drawing the winner tomorrow afternoon!

I made a card today with the sketch from Sketch Saturday and the color combo challenge from Cute Card Thursday, which was citrus colors. I love being able to participate in all the fun challenges and it's a bonus when it works out that I can combine them too.

I started this card with some Groovy Guava cardstock and layered on some BasicGrey Gypsy papers. The images are ones I received in a swap. They've been colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. I then cut them out and mounted them to a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock that was embossed with the Paisley folder and CB. The final touches were to use the SU! eyelet punch to create the lace border on the Barely Banana cardstock. Then I layered on more Gypsy paper with some lace ribbon and Prima flowers. I added a rhinestone brad for the center of the flower and dew drops to the top of the card along side the image.

Thanks for stopping on by! See you tomorrow with the blog candy winner and hopefully a new card! Happy Stamping! :)

Friday Sketchers #37

Hi Everyone!

Well, it's Monday, not much else to say about that! Hope you had a nice weekend. We had a birthday party for our daughter and then stayed in out of the cold and of course watched the Super Bowl last night. Now, I'm catching up on some stamping and blogging.

I made this card today for the challenge on Friday Sketchers. I came across this sketch on both Bev and Rach's blogs and thought it was a simple and easy way to get the mojo flowing. I also loved the image Rach used on her card and just happened to have been given some of these cute bunny images by my friend Janna.

I used Basic Grey printed papers and Stampin' Up! cardstock. The image was colored with Copics and then highlighted with a white gel pen. The embellishments are felt ribbon and flower brads and I added some paper piercing to the image piece. Simple yet still cute! This was a fun sketch!

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great Monday! Happy Stamping! :)

Sweet Blues

Hi All!

Hope you're having a good week. It's been busy here, but I had some time to sneak in some stamping today. I actually should be planning cards for stamp club tonight, but I'm procrastinating as usual. Plus, I need to get the creative juices flowing and what better way to do that than stamp! :)

I made this card using an image my good friend Jo sent to me a couple months ago. She was kind enough to stamp me a whole folder filled with sweet little Sugar Nellie images just like this one. I adore them, they are fun to color and always put a smile on my face. Thanks Jo!

Here are some quick basics about this card, as I really need to get to my club projects. The colors are Close to Cocoa and Bashful Blue along with some Washington Apple DSP. Then I added a scalloped oval which was cut with my Nesties. The embellishments are flower brads, a metal clip, grosgrain ribbon, and some white gel pen accents.

Hope you have a great Wednesday! Happy Stamping! :)

Fall Somethings

Happy Friday!

It's STAMP SOMETHING challenge day! Our design team member Alex is hosting the challenge this week! She's got a simple, but fun theme for the week...Fall Somethings. Make a project that has something to do with the Fall season.

I chose to make a card and I used this Sweet Ebony image. Apple picking is always one of my favorite Fall activities and this image reminds me of that!

I began by coloring the image with watercolor pencils and an aquapainter, my new favorite way to color images! Then I used these Fall colors...Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, More Mustard, Summer Sun, and Ruby Red to make my card.

I stamped the Canvas and Fresh Fillers BG stamps on the Old Olive piece. Then stamped my ink pad directly on the chocolate piece to give it a weathered look. The Summer Sun piece was scalloped using my corner rounder punch. The accents here are Jersey Originals Ribbon, wide grosgrain ribbon, Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware, and paper flowers. I also used the ticket corner punch and crystal effects on the image piece. The sentiment stamp is from Fresh Cuts, a Stampin' Up! set.

Thanks for taking a look at my Fall Something, I hope you'll head over to STAMP SOMETHING and check out the design team samples. Have fun stamping your Fall Somethings! :)

Little Flower Girl

Hello All!

I'm back from all of our family gatherings and the weekend wedding festivities. We had a great time visiting with family and friends and celebrating my brother's marriage. Now we're in recovery mode, trying to get things back to normal.

I did find time to take out my stamping stuff and got to work today creating. It felt great to stamp! I also placed an order for new Stampin' Up! goodies, but while I wait, I decided to work with other images.

This is one card I made using images my good friend Jo sent to me recently. I just love this sweet little girl, she's a Sugar Nellie.

I colored her in using watercolor wonder crayons and an aquapainter. Then highlighted areas with the white gel pen. The cardstock colors are Rose Red, Night of Navy, So Saffron, and Always Artichoke. The embellishments are pearls, taffeta ribbon, grosgrain ribbon, and styled silver hodgepodge. I also embossed the Saffron layer with the flower pattern and my Cuttle Bug.

Thanks for looking today! I hope to have some time in the next couple of days to visit you too! Happy Stamping!! :)

Sweet Sugar Nellies

Happy Thursday!

That means time to commit rubber-dultery! It's great fun using my stash of images. A little while back my friend, Jo, sent me a card folder filled with Sugar Nellie images, so today I took those out. They are super sweet!

This first card was colored with watercolor wonder crayons and an aquapainter. The cardstock Jo stamped these images on is fabulous for watercoloring. Everything blends so well. I'll have to ask her where she gets it and then I'll share that info with you. I used Brocade Blue and Pretty in Pink for my card colors. For embellishments, I used some brads and ribbon with paper piercing. Simple and sweet!

This next card was also colored with watercolor wonder crayons and an aquapainter. I chose this image to complete the Cute Card Thursday challenge, "anything cute with wings..." from last week. She's holding this cute little bird so I think this works. I used the same color combo as the card above. I also added brads and ribbon with paper piercing for the embellishments. To make this card a bit different, I made a scalloped edge with my corner rounder punch.

**To make these cards all Stampin' Up! you could use the set If the Halo Fits from the Spring/Summer Collection.

Hope you have a great Thursday! Happy Stamping!! :)
