Wild About You

Hi All!

I can't believe it's Thursday already! This week is just flying by! I have another Whimsy Stamps sneak peek for you today to continue with our Whimsy Stamps Sneak Peek Week. My fellow designer Hanne also has a little something to show you on her blog too, be sure to check it out!

I was inspired by the card Deb made yesterday for her sneak peek. She created a brilliant stair fold card using the new Princess Emma stamp. I've been wanting to try out this fold for a while, so here's what I came up with....

A wild bunch we have here...these are Whimsy Lion, Giraffe, and Monkey! They will all be available for purchase on Monday, June 1st. The actual stamp sizes may slightly differ to these images as these are digital print outs. To make the steps/stairs cut a piece of card stock 10.5 X 5 inches, then score at 1.25, 2.5, 4.25, 6, and 8.25 inches. Fold and decorate!

As luck may have it, this card also fits some challenges too! First, the challenge at Charisma Cardz which was Going Dotty. I used some dotted and circle paper on the front piece of the "steps." Next, the challenge over at Truly Scrumptious was to make a card with more than one fold. I think this step/stair card qualifies for that! Cute Card Thursday was a Bit O Bling. I added some rhinestones to the "sky" in the monkey panel to create some stars. And lastly, the challenge at Everybody Art was to make something 3D. This card is obviously 3D, but I also popped up all the heads/faces on the animals to create more depth with the images. Kind of hard to tell in this photo.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back tomorrow with a little something different to go along with our Whimsy Stamps Sneak Peek Week! Stay tuned!

Happy Stamping!

Whimsy Sneak Peek Week - Connor and Emma

Happy Wednesday!

It's a rainy one here, but perfect for stamping! Hope you're day is going well. I have more Whimsy Stamps sneak peeks to share with you today here on my blog and some of our Whimsy Design Team members also have some sneak peeks on their blogs as well! Check out Deb, Erin, and Trudy and see what they've been up to!

First, I'm sharing Princess Emma, that I used for the challenge at ABC Challenge, which is being sponsored by Whimsy this week. The theme is P is for Pearls. I was also able to combine this card with the challenges at A Spoon Full of Sugar, which is lace along with Charisma Cardz which is flowers, lace, and pearls. I also used the color combo from Color Throwdown of Bordering Blue, Elegant Eggplant, and Barely Banana (all SU! colors) and paired that with the sketch from Friday Sketchers. Wow, how many challenges is that?! I've lost track!

Now on to my other sneak peek which is Connor on Bike! I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash and the Cupcake Craft challenge of 2 colors, 2 ribbons, and 2 shapes. I think I covered all the twos with my papers and accents. The sketch showed flowers as accents however I changed those to buttons to work for the masculine card.

Thanks for stopping over here today. I hope you'll hop from here to the other Whimsy DT blogs to see their sneak peeks! Have a great day, happy stamping!! :)

Whimsy Sneak Peek Week - Whimsy Giraffe

Happy Tuesday All!

Hope you're week is going well. Things have been busy here! We are getting ready for the release of 5 new Whimsy Stamps stamps! We will be adding 3 new animals to our Whimsy Animals Collection and 2 new kids to the Whimsy Kids Collection. It's an exciting time!

In honor of this new release we thought we'd have some fun all week long by showing you sneak peeks at the new stamps! The Whimsy Stamps Design Team will be creating projects using the new images and posting everyday this week! Yesterday, Jeanette and Camilla showed us two fabulous cards using Princess Emma and Whimsy Giraffe! Hop on over to their blogs and check out what they made!

Today, I have a sneak peek for you at the Whimsy Giraffe and Michele and Vicki have sneak peeks at Connor on Bike from the Kids Collection and Whimsy Monkey from the Animals Collection!

Here's my giraffe....

I used the sketch from this week's Sketch Saturday. I did flip it a bit to fit my image and accents. The colors are Chocolate Chip and Barely Banana, which makes me think of banana splits on a hot Summer day! Speaking of Summer, there's a brand new challenge over on Whimsy Challenges that's all about Summer fun!

I colored my image with Copics and had to cut part of the body off to work with this sketch. So this is a mini sneak peek! LOL! :) The accents on this card are wide grosgrain ribbon, felt flowers, and Button Latte all from SU!. The designer paper is also SU! from the recent SAB pack. Lastly, the edges on all the layers have been distressed.

Thanks for stopping on by today! Hope you have a great afternoon. Be sure to check back each day this week for more Whimsy Sneak Peeks and on Friday there may just be a little something extra!!!

Happy Stamping! :)

Cards for Heroes Blog Hop

Happy Saturday All!

Hope you are enjoying another great weekend! For those of you in the USA, happy Memorial Day weekend to you.

In honor of Memorial Day and the men and women who serve in our military, CARDS FOR HEROES is conducting a blog hop! The goal is to raise awareness of the need for cards and monetary donations used to send to the troops overseas. It's a great cause that's also very rewarding.

CFH collects cards, fronts, and supplies as well as financial gifts that will be used to create cards that are then sent to the military overseas for use in sending home greetings to their loved ones. In addition, you can also send the troops signed cards expressing your gratitude to them for their sacrifice.

I have a box ready to go filled with old card fronts and full cards, what better way of sharing and saying thank you than donating them to this group to spread some cheer. I hope this will encourage others to do the same! For more details about the wonderful things this group does for our military men and women and how you can help, please visit them at www.cardsforheroes.org.

OK, this is a blog hop so if you are just finding out about this now, please take a minute to go back to the "top of hop" by clinking HERE. From there you will be able to start the hop which will take you to fabulous blogs with Patriotic and/or red, white, and blue themed creations. There are many prizes up for grabs too, so take a few minutes and HOP till you DROP!

I joined in the hop with this card....a red, white, and blue themed creation. I wanted to do something patriotic however I don't have any stamps, so I went for colors instead and ekpt it simple so it can be used for any occasion.

I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers paired with my red, white, and blue color combo. I embossed some paper and gel dotted others to create some texture and interest. The image is a Magnolia from a swap, colored with Copics and framed with oval Nesties. The final touches are ribbons to tie the card closed and paper flowers with rose centers.

I hope you'll continue your way along the hop and view all the other supporters of this cause for our troops. Before you go, if you leave a comment on this post, I will be drawing a random winner on Tuesday morning, May 26th at 9am, and that person will receive a mystery prize from Whimsy Stamps! ***Mystery prize is now CLOSED***

OK, the next hop on this Blog Hop Tour is....Kelly of the Weekend Stamper. Kelly is a military wife and mother of two. Click HERE to continue this blog hop tour and see Kelly's Patriotic creation!

A Farewell Sketch and Sneak Peek

Happy Friday All!

Today we have another fabulous challenge for you on Stamp Something. Unfortunately, a new challenge also brings another goodbye to one of our current design team members. This week we are celebrating a year of creativity and bidding farewell to our super talented DT member Emily! In honor of Emily, we would like to see you create a card using one of the sketches Emily has designed for Stamp Something. We also have a new sketch posted up today in case you want to try something new. As long as you CASE or use one of Emily's sketches, you're good to go! Head on over to Stamp Something to see the fun creation by the design team as well as this week's blog candy!

My card today uses one of the sketches Emily designed in our early weeks as a challenge blog. Here's the sketch...

And here's my card...

Meet one of Whimsy's newest animals....Whimsy Monkey! He'll be available for purchase on Monday, June 1st. All next week the Whimsy Design Team will be sharing sneak peeks at the new Animals and Kids collection stamps. I thought this would be a perfect time to kick off the sneak peek week!

The moneky has been colored with Copics and his head has been popped up on foam tape to create some dimension. Then I cut out his legs and used the Nesties to frame him. Keeping his legs attached makes him seem more like he's actually swinging there!

The papers are some I got at the convention this past weekend, not sure who makes them. The cardstock is Chocolate Chip and Old Olive both from SU!. The buttons are also from the convention and coordinate with the papers. I also added some grosgrain ribbons and hemp twine. The sentiment is one I hand wrote and hung with a piece of hodgepodge hardware.

Thanks for stopping on by today, I hope you have a fabulous weekend. Happy Stamping! :)

A Celebration Sketch

Morning All!

Hope your day is off to a great start. It's going to be a hot one here so I'm busy trying to get all the chores done before the heat sets in! Then it's off to work I go on finishing up the last of the wedding invites I've been working on, I'm just about DONE! :)

I have a card to share today that I made using the sketch from Sketch Saturday and the theme of celebration from A Spoon Full of Sugar. Be sure to check out A Spoon Full of Sugar this week, they are celebrating their blogoversary with some great prizes up for grabs including a stamp from Whimsy Stamps! Here's what I came up with....

My friend Marcea sent me these adorable Dandelion and Daisy images for my birthday, isn't she the cutest! Thank you Marcea!

This card is for my little sister who is graduating from college this weekend. She's been plugging away and graduation day is finally here and I wanted to wish her all the best. This image may not say graduation, but it's super cute and I know it will make her smile. I've colored the image with Copics and framed her using my Nesties. I cut out her feet first and then used the Nestie to create the perfect circle around her.

The papers are from the SU! SAB prints pack along with Black and White cardstock. The embellishments are wide grosgrain ribbon and paper flowers which I embossed and then added some plastic flowers to the centers. Those are Primas that I got at the convention this past weekend. And the sentiment is from SU! Short and Sweet.

I'm off for now, but will be back tomorrow with an all new challenge from Stamp Something, hope you'll join us! Don't forget to enter for a chance to win my blog candy too, there's still some time!

Happy Stamping! :)

One for the Boys

Happy Wednesday All!

Another week already half over, time is flying by! Hope you're having a good week so far. I know I'm looking forward to a long weekend coming up!

I have a card today that I created using Baseball Connor from Whimsy Stamps. I very rarely make cards for boys so this one was different for me. Fun different though!

I didn't really plan for this one to fit into any challenges, but it does! First, Simon Says Stamp's challenge was to make one for the boys and Cute Card Thursday is to use letters and numbers. The letters and numbers is probably a stretch, but I doodled on the sentiment, it's not a stamp. So it might count, we'll see.

The papers are some I got this past weekend at the scrapbook convention I went to with friends. We had a great time and scored lots and lots of goodies for not a lot of money! The buttons are also from the convention and go with the papers. Not sure who makes them though, I ripped off the tag and threw it away before looking. Ooops!

Connor has been colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. I wrote the All Star sentiment with a black SU! marker and added some photo corners and hemp twine to finish off this card. I think Baseball Connor is a perfect stamp for those masculine themed cards!

Thanks for stopping on by today, have a great day! I'm off to finish up work on those wedding invites I've been working on the last couple month. I'm in the home stretch and just want to have them DONE!

Happy stamping! :)

Shabby Chic Cupcake Sketch

Happy Tuesday All!

Sorry I've been MIA lately. Things have been very busy at our house. Catching up after vacation, doing house work and laundry, running errands, etc...I feel like I haven't stamped in forever! I did make some time today though.

I found the sketch on Cupcake Craft Challenge and paired it with the theme of Shabby/Vintage over at Stamp with Fun. And this is the outcome...

I received this beautiful image from my good friend Marcea. We traded images a little while back and this was just one of many I received from her. Thank you Marcea! :)

I colored the image with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. Her wings have been dusted with Elmer's glitter glue.

The papers are all SU! including the new Parisian Breeze DSP. I just love this paper, it's not only beautiful but it's also textured! To create the shabby chic details, I distressed the paper edges, made some tears, and then stitched it to another piece of DSP which was also distressed. The accents are a Taffeta and lace ribbons and Prima flowers paired with felt flowers and paper roses. I got the pretty vintage frame at a scrapbook convention this past weekend.

Thanks for popping on over today. Don't forget to enter for your chance to win my Birthday Blog Candy prize! Have a great afternoon, happy stamping! :)

ETA: I plan to give this card to a friend who is recovering from a recent surgery, so this card also fits the Whiff of Joy friendship challenge. :)

A Sneak Peek and Challenge!

Hello Again!

Hope you are all having a fabulous Friday! The weekend is only hours away and what a nice treat that is! Hope you have fun things planned for your weekend time.

Whimsy Stamps has been asked to be the May sponsor over at Cafe Mojo. All month long they will be sharing past creations made by our Whimsy Design Team and today will post a challenge sponsored by Whimsy. Our very own DT member Vicki came up with the challenge theme of "Bling those Things" and I do hope you'll join in. Visit Cafe Mojo for more info!

The card I made for this challenge uses a brand new image to be released on June 1st! So this is a little sneak peek for you....here is Princess Emma! She will join Knight Connor and the Princess Coach stamps very soon, stay tuned.

This card is for a special little girl who is celebrating a birthday this month. I thought that this image and all the shimmering rhinestones would be perfect for her. Plus, every little girl loves pink!

The image has been colored with Copics and framed with circle Nesties, you are seeing only a portion of this stamp. The papers are BasicGrey Urban Prairie and SU! cardstock in Tempting Turquoise and Pink Pirouette. The sentiment is also from Whimsy Stamps. I used a Prima flower and fabric rose some sticky rhinestones and satin ribbon, all from my local craft store.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you have a great weekend. Happy Stamping! :)

Clean and Simple Thank You

Morning All!

Yay, it's Friday! Today we have an all new challenge for you on Stamp Something! As most of you know, this month we are saying good bye to some of our design team members and in doing so we are honoring each of them for a challenge all month long. This week we are saying good bye to Lauren and asking you to create a clean and simple thank you something.

Lauren has a classic, clean, and fresh style that is always beautiful in it's simple design. Hop on over to her blog and take a look at her creations, get some inspiration to create your very own clean and simple thank you card or CASE on that Lauren has created in the past year. Then enter for your chance to win Lauren's blog candy prize! Head over to Stamp Something for more details!

This is the card Lauren created, for a past Stamp Something challenge, that I chose to CASE....

And this is my card, inspired by Lauren's original work....

I used some retired cardstock and design paper from Stampin' Up! to make this card. The ribbon is also retired and the hodgepodge is Vanilla. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Short and Sweet stamp set. Simply and easily done!

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back later today with another card for another challenge...it's going to be a sneak peek too! Hope you'll stop by later!

Have a great weekend! Happy stamping! :)

Country Style Thank You

Hi All!

I'm feeling a little better today so I decided to get some stamping done! I made a card for a challenge and am now finishing up some projects for tomorrow. Hope you're all have a nice day! Thank you, by the way, for all the well wishes to get better, I think it's helping! :)

I recently received this sweet Sugar Nellie from my good friend and fellow DT member Deb. I love the Sugar Nellie stamps and these new ones are just as sweet as all the others. She's just darling Deb, thank you so much for thinking of me! :)

I found a layout while blog hopping yesterday. It was on Katharina's blog and so I decided to go with that sketch for this card. I used some bright and cheerful Marrakech papers from BasicGrey with SU! Riding Hood Red and Night of Navy and a small piece of Bashful Blue. The embellishments are Marrakech brads, Silver HPH, grosgrain ribbons, and flowers with buttons. I also added some paper piercing to the edges. Haven't done that in a while! I embossed the Bashful piece with the Paisley folder and CB. The sentiment is from SU!'s Short and Sweet set. The image was colored with Copics and highlighted with a gel pen.

This card also fits the Buttons Galore challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar. I know I don't technically have buttons galore but for me, four is a bunch! Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy the rest of your afternoon.

Happy Stamping! :)

For a Friend

Afternoon All!

This is going to be a quick post. I've caught another nasty cold and am feel a bit under the weather at the moment. I was hoping getting up and moving around would make me feel better, but that's not the case. I do hope you're all having a nice Wednesday though!

I created a card this afternoon for the Whiff of Joy and Cute Card Thursday challenges. Both of these challenges wanted you to create a card for a friend to brighten his/her day. I have just the friend in mind and so this card will be for her.

The images are from Whiff of Joy and the papers and most of papers and embellishments are Stampin' Up!. I used Copics to color the image and highlighted with a gel pen. Sorry for the brief description, but I need to go lie down now.

Have a good afternoon, thanks for stopping by. :)

Back with a Card!

Hi All!

Hope you're having a good day. It's so good to be home from vacation and getting back to normal. Don't get me wrong, vacation is wonderful too, but it's just nice to be home and back to the things I missed.

Last night I had a few minutes of time to myself so I made a card for a few challenges. Unfortunately, I'm a bit late for one of them, but that's OK. Still had fun making this one, the first since coming home. Boy was it nice to stamp!

First, this card works for the Whimsy Challenges Flower Power challenge which was to use any kind of floral accents, papers, embellishments, stamps etc. I also used this Rainy Day Emma image to fit the challenge as well. The card also uses the sketch from Sketch Saturday and the challenge of Touchy Feely - Use Texture from A Spoon Full of Sugar. The textured parts on this card are the embossed layers and the lace ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm off now to check out what you've all been creating lately! Happy Stamping :)

Oh and today is my friend Debbie's birthday and she's celebrating with some AWESOME blog candy! Head on over to her blog and check it out! Big Happy Birthday Wishes to you Debbie!

I'm Back!

Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a great weekend and to the mom's out there, I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday. My day was very relaxing, spent with my hubby and kids! It was a nice since we had a very busy week of vacation. I hope to get back into the swing of normal everyday life soon. I really miss creating cards! It's been over a week since I last stamped or blogged for that matter. Hoping to visit you all today and tomorrow to see what every one's been up to and all the great stuff I missed!

Before I leave, I thought I'd share my little Mother's Day gift with you....

This is our new kitten Prince Maxx Snowball! He's got a rather long name as we all had ideas in mind! We call him Maxx and little buddy for short! He's the sweetest little guy and the family is already in love with him, including the dogs!

Hope you have a great Monday! I hope to be back soon with some new creations, including a new card for the new Whimsy Challenge, which posted this morning. Click HERE to check it out!

Happy stamping. :)

CASE Melissa - Birthday Somethings

Well it's Friday and we have another challenge for you over on Stamp Something today! As you may know, this month we are celebrating our one year blogoversary as well as saying goodbye to some of the design team members. Each Friday challenge will have a theme and a CASE of one of the departing DT members.

This week we are asking you to CASE a project of Melissa's and make it fit a Birthday Something theme! It's been a lot of fun working with Melissa each week. She's a wonderful person with lots of talent and she will be missed. Because Melissa will be leaving us, we have an open spot on the DT to fill. If you're interested, visit the Stamp Something site and check out the challenge and the rules. And for a chance to win some fabulous blog candy, head on over to Stamp Something now and play along with us!

This is the card I chose to CASE that Melissa created for an Easter Something challenge. Isn't it adorable! Love her little pink and white bunny.

For my card, I kept the layout and colors similar. Melissa is a huge fan of pink so I knew I wanted to go with a pink color combo. The image I chose to use is a cute Sugar Nellie, she's been colored with Copics and then cut out and cutting this one out was not easy! Worth it for sure, but it took a while!

The papers are BasicGrey Porcelain with SU! Kraft and Pink Pirouette. I added some paper piercing and grosgrain ribbon. The sentiment if also from SU!.

Thanks for taking a look at my CASE, I hope you have fun CASEing something of Melissa's this week! Happy Stamping! :)

Two Layers of Color Cards

HI All!

Still away on vacation....

...but here are two cards I made for the Layers of Color gallery recently!

This one uses the stamps are from Renaissance Hearts and Fleur Hearts stamp sets. The colors are Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, and black with splashes of hot pink. The DSP is from a pack I've had, not sure of the name. I did some stitching on the main panel and added some sticky gems. The flowers are Primas with pearl centers. The sentiment is Whimsy Simply Said.

This next card is more for the Holidays using the stamps from the Birdday Party stamp set.

I masked a circle area and sponged on Soft Sky ink to create an ornament effect. Then stamped the birds and music notes. The sentiment is from SU!. I used a white gel pen to create some faux stitching doodles.

Thanks for looking! :) Check back tomorrow for another Stamp Something challenge!

More Challenges!

Hello,

I just have a quick post this Wednesday to share a card I made for the challenges at last week's Cute Card Thursday and Truly Scrumptious challenges!

CCT's challenge is Mirror, Mirror - use something shiny on your creation. And at Truly Scrumptious they have a fun new sketch along with the theme good enough to eat! Here's my take on these challenges...

I started with this cute Tilda and cupcake image to fit the "good enough to eat" challenge and then used the sketch to create the card. The papers are Parisian Breeze from SU! along with Chocolate Chip, Kraft, and Baja Breeze cardstocks. I added 3 shiny brads, 3 shiny dew drop beads, and glittered Tilda's wings. I think that definitely covers the shiny challenge! The other embellishments are wide grosgrain ribbon and felt flowers.

Thanks for stopping by again today! Enjoy the rest of the day, hope it's warm where you are! Happy Stamping! :)

My First Digi-stamp!

Hi all!

Still away on vacation, but before I left I created this card using a digital image I received from the Doodle Palace! It's super cute and was lots of fun to color!

The papers are SU! from the free SAB pack. I colored the image with Copics and highlighted with a gel pen. The embellishments are buttons, hodgepodge hardware, and ribbons. The sentiment is SU! Short and Sweet and was punched using the word window punch.

Thanks for popping on over! Enjoy your day! Happy Stamping! :)

Another Whimsy Mono Card

Happy Monday All!

My family and are on vacation this week in sunny Florida, but I have some posts scheduled with new cards to share while I'm away. I hope you have a great week! I'll be back to blogging when I return next week. Until then.....happy stamping! :)

This is a card for Whimsy Challenges. The challenge is to make a monochromatic card, using one color in as many various shades as you'd like along with one neutral color.

This is my blue and white monochromatic card with Whimsy Skunk frolicking in a meadow of flowers. The papers and embellishments are all SU!. The skunk has been colored with Copics and I used Flower Soft to create the meadow.

Head on over to Whimsy Challenges and join us in the monochromatic color challenge. There's still plenty of time to enter for a chance to win some free Whimsy goodies!

******************************************************************************

Today, Whimsy Stamps is sponsoring the challenge over on Sketch Saturday. Whimsy and Sketch Saturday DT member Debbie created a fun sketch for you to use. One lucky winner will receive two of the Whimsy Kids Collection stamps! Head on over to Sketch Saturday and check everything out!

While we're away, Whimsy Stamps Customer Service will be closed, however you are still able to access the website as well as place orders. All orders will ship on Monday, May 11th. We are also offering a special "vacation" discount on all orders placed while we are away! You will save 20% off your order if you use the code vacation during check out!

This is the card I created for this challenge using Debbie's sketch and my Whimsy Moose image.

The image has been colored with Copics. The papers are from a retired SU! design prints pack. The cardstock is Chocolate Chip and Old Olive. I distressed the edges and added some ribbon and floral accents to finish off this card.

Thanks for stopping by, if you're up for a challenge, head on over to Sketch Saturday and give this one a try. Happy Stamping! :)

Stamp Something - a CASE of Cindy

Morning All!

Well, Friday is here and we have a new challenge for you over on Stamp Something! Today is also the start of May, which is the month one year ago that we started the Stamp Something weekly challenges! It's going to be an exciting month of challenges, celebration blog candy, and sadly some goodbyes as well.

Each Friday during the month of May, we will bring you new challenges with a twist! The twist is that as we say goodbye to some of our DT members, we would like for you to CASE something they have created. This also means we will be making some design team changes, which could be good news for you! All month long we will be looking for new crafters to join our team. A new team will be chosen at the end of the month and announced during the last week in May. For more info, visit Stamp Something!

So, today's challenge is Something For a Mother and a CASE of our DT member Cindy. You must visit her blog and look through all her lovely creations, CASE her work, and tailor it to fit our Something For a Mother!

This is Cindy's beautiful card I chose to CASE:
And here's my version:I loved the layout on Cindy's card and the floral image. I didn't have the same papers or the image, so my CASE uses the same layout, embellishments, and a floral image. The papers are SU! Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery along with some BasicGrey printed paper. The stamps are Embrace Life from SU! colored with Copics. I added some pink grosgrain and white organdy ribbon, a pink flower button, and some vanilla hodgepodge. The sentiment is Whimsy Simply Said.

We will miss working with Cindy each week. Her creations are always elegant and perfectly done and Cindy is a wonderful person as well. I hope you enjoy CASEing some of her work as much as our Stamp Something Design Team did!

Have a great weekend, happy stamping! :)
