Happy Friday!
Hope you've had a great week! It was pretty rainy here earlier this week, but when it ended, the sun came out and the temps warmed up! It's a beautiful Spring day here, I hope it's nice where ever you are!
Today I have a couple of cards to share with you for the challenges at Just Magnolia and Stamp Something. Both challenges posted this morning and you actually could combine them if you fancy a chance to play along.
First, my creation for Just Magnolia. Our challenge this week, is our special monthly challenge, to create a project/card with more than one fold while also using a Magnolia image. Our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp. I was going to go with a traditional gate fold card, but then I saw this really awesome creation on Deb's blog and decided to give it a go. Deb calls it a theater box card and she has a great tutorial posted for how to make one, so that's what I've made for this challenge.
I started by coloring this sweet image that Ann was kind enough to stamp and share with me. I just love the sweet little costume and her fun hair. I think I will need to order myself this stamp! I've colored her with Copics and added lots of stickles for shimmer. I used Nestabilities to frame the image and then decorated with cherry blossoms and sticky gems on my BG Lemonade papers.
On the inner flaps, I've added some cupcake images and hearts with more sticky gems and stickles. The papers are also more BG Lemonade with card stock in various pink tones.
Here's a closer look at the inside...
The really nice part about this card is that you can fold it closed to protect all the embellishments on the inside of the card. I've decorated the outside with more BG papers and then some sentiments from Whimsy Stamps that have been punched with various oval punches. I've added ribbon to tie the box closed with more cherry blossom accents.
This card also fits the challenges at:
Roses on Paper: Punch It
A Spoon Full of Sugar: Shaped Cards
Magnolia Down Under: Stitching
Stamptacular Sunday: Flower Power
Totally Gorjuss: Hearts
OK, next I have my Stamp Something card and this week our challenge is Pink Somethings. You just need to use lots of pink in your creation. I've used a Stamping Boutique image on my card as they are the sponsor of this challenge.
I've colored with Copics and then added some stickles to the image. I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday with BG Bittersweet papers. I've framed the image with Oval Nesties and then added some flowers, brads, and ribbon to accent this card.
This card also fits the challenges at:
Creative Cottage: Pretty Pink
Crafty Calendar Challenge: Flower Power
Thanks for coming on over today. I hope you have a great Friday and an even better weekend!
Happy Stamping,
