Wedding Invite Sample

Well, I've finally finished the save the date cards for my aunt's wedding which I've been working on all week. With those done, I decided to play around with wedding invitation ideas as this will be my next project for her. This is the sample I made this morning. I'm very happy with it, but she hasn't seen it yet. I actually just mailed it out to her. My friend and fellow stamper Quinn is using this swirl pattern on her wedding invites and I loved it so much I had to try it on my sample.

My aunt wants to use the theme of ocean and beach for the invitation color scheme. I chose to use Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Very Vanilla, and Mellow Moss. I think this is my new favorite color combo! The vanilla is embossed with the swirl folder and the Cuttlebug. This swirl reminds me of the waves in the ocean. The stamp set is Baroque Motifs. I used gold eyelets and Mellow Moss Taffeta ribbon as accents. The invite is a tri-fold which uses two pieces of cardstock, adhered on the back to get the length I needed.

This is the inside view. I used the Cuttlebug and swirl folder again with the Baroque Motif swirl as the focal point under the vellum. I haven't printed the wording yet, but it will be printed on the vellum.

The right hand side has a pocket to hold the RSVP card and return envelope. I need to get vanilla cards and envelopes. I didn't have them for this sample. The ribbon is threaded through gold eyelets like on the front closure piece.

I'd love to hear what you think. Have a super weekend. Happy Stamping! :)

this is very elegant! I've just found out that I have wedding invites and all the other bits and pieces to make for my son's wedding - but I have until spring 2010! I have to go with white and bright pink and make a few samples for them to choose from .. ..
